"cool" addition to the CL from the TL

I dont know if anyone thought of it. But I have to haul my gf's sisters around once in a while. It makes no sense to me that I have monitors in headrests but no AC back there. I went out to a junkyard and salvaged a TL's center console and the air duct and did this
(pardon the dust since I just finished it)

What year TL? ANd you just slapped it in and it worked or do you have to run some air vent tubing? Thats hot..I like it..even though I had a total of 2 people sit in my back seat maybe 6 times.

But I tripped over the console when I had it out and it scratched REAL bad..i was going to buy a whole new one..but if this is an option..that would be great!

Where'd you mount your backup camera?

Hey SilverKnight, that looks sweet. Kinda like my car now

langjae: Yes, it is fully functional like that of a TL. There is an airduct that route air from the front under the stock HU to the rear vent. On the CL, this openning is covered up by a plastic cover. Basically you have to replace the whole CL console with the TL's console and the TL's air duct.
The stock CL, air is blowing out to the back from under the seat...kind of amuses me when I saw it...why? to cool off your toes?

langae,
I dont remember the yr. Maybe randomwalk does. I believe 01 or -2 should fit fine. Be extremely careful while you work with the air duct. I would recommend to disconnect the battery since you will be working among several bundles of SRS wires. Other than that, it's just the matter of putting the air duct in.

Oh, one more thing. There was something that got in the airduct's way (bottom left conner of the dash console). I have no clue what it was. I removed and remounted a little higher.

randomwalk,
how many times do I have to tell you that TLs have those vents at the bottom as well? :P

I thought maybe you put the foglight switch in the empty socket for it.

That looks cool though. I don't ever have more than one person in the CL with me though - the backseats are too much of a bitch, especially with motorized seats.

You do know that there are air conditioning vents underneath the front seats of the CL that provide air to the rear don't you?

Yes, I do considering I stripped my car to bare metal twice .. but those are not enough. The TL got those too.

It costs me some pretty penies ... I overpaid it. The guy told me the center console and the shift console for 100 bucks but he changed his mind when I was there. He sold me the center console and the airduct for 90+tax. I got pissed so I stole the heater switches and a couple little pieces.
I dont think I could do the same for anyone else.
Audio stuff, yes. Messing with SRS wires, no. I can only show you what to do. Basically, you can come to my place. I'll sit there and point at things. You got to do it with your own hands. Sorry, Johnny.

Would I have to replace the entire CL console to the TL console or can I just replace the rear garnish?

I think you would have to replace the whole console. I'll check on this later. Also, you need to put in the TL's airduct from the dash to the console since CL doesn't come with one.

I understand your situation.
Especially your baby has half of my people blood in her .
BUT (a very big but) I don't want to be responsible for the airbags and there are several bundles for SRS wires which I have to remove from a specific bracket that needs to be remove so the TL's airduct can fit in. I can show you what to do but I just cannot do it myself. PM me if you need help. I'll give you my number.
