Considering swaybars

OK guys, i know the majority of you have these sways on your ride and ive got a few questions....ive got the comptech springs already and clearly, this has helped my suspension as well as given me a nice conservative lowered look. my question is EXACTLY what do these sways do for me that my springs dont alraedy do? is my ride quality going to be even stiffer with the sways?? it seems somewhat stiff as it is with just the springs, definately stiffer than the stock springs...i dont want a SUPER stiff ride but if there truely is some advantage to the sways that justify their price, id love to know...or is it just one of those peice of mind mods that doesnt really do anything but looks cool and makes you feel like your car is better or something...thanks for any and all info guys!!

I used to have the CT sways. Front and rear installed with the springs on my 2k1. If you put the CT sways on, your ride will definitely feel heavier and alot stiffer WHEN THE CAR TRIES TO ROLL SIDE TO SIDE. If you go over a speed bump, you'll feel the entire car frame shift. You can tell your ride will be so much stiffer.

I am thinking of putting just the CT sways on the 6-speed. I don't think I can hack the ride quality with the CT springs. I guess I'm leaning towards the coilover route.

dont have the springs on my 01; but the sways made a HUGE differrence in steering response and in reducing body roll in turns. I'm sure that combo of springs and sways would be outstanding--many on this forum were really impressed with the two. All told, I think its the biggest bang for the buck improvement you can make. Then when you've gotten some miles on your tires, replace them with a lower profile, wider contact tire and youll have the best

I wouldn't say the sways make the ride stiffer as much as they make the overall ride feel more "planted". I was also skeptical at first, but after reading others post their stories of the CT sways I was sold. Even when I had just the CT springs I would feel a little body roll in the corners. With the sways I don't feel much if any roll. It was a night and day difference and I can't say enough about them. Do it, you won't regret it. . .

I agree. When I went to my 40 series Kumho's, after installing the sways, I could take cloverleafs so fast my friends shit their pants. . . Fun all around. . .

It doesent' make the ride specificaly stiffer. it helps stop the body roll when you take a hard turn. When you take a hard right turn, the right wheel wants to come off the ground. it tranfers the weight from the left wheel to the right and vice versa. makes a big difference. Any other questions?

as was mentioned

u should DEFINITELY consider a tire upgrade afterwards. since the body doesn't roll as much, more of that momentum that was channeled to torquing the stock sway will not tend to increase the amount of flex ur sidewalls experience. i don't know if more or less profile is better though. i could see a higher profile tire flexing a lot and possibly even losing traction but then a lower profile would focus all of that flexing into a considerably small sidewall. could anyone elaborate on this?

BTW...i put my sways on 2 weeks ago and if u take a cloverleaf fast enough it does feel like the rear tire on the side ur turning wants desperately to come off the ground...then again u probably shouldn't be taking cloverleaf turns at 50+
