Compteh SC for 5-AT released?

A guy in the blackmarket is selling his intake. He claims he got his CT SC installed.

Is it released?

like i said in the other thread, it's possible that it was used as a test vehicle or something along those lines because he said it was installed by comptech

i'm not assuming anything, just tossing that out on the floor for speculation of course

The Supercharger was indeed installed by Comptech on my 5-sp Auto CL-S last week as part of final testing before release of the production units. They are finishing up final tweaking of the system to optimize power output. So far the SC performance has been great, especially the sound as it spools up.

Here are the pics:

Do they cut you any kind of break on the labor since they are using your car a test?

I know that you have to remove the sc shaft to replace the front three spark plugs (confirmed by mikeb) but how the hell are you suppose to replace the battery when it dies?????

also just a little warning for those with the sc. If you get into a frontal accident it does not take much for the latch to move the radiator back. When i got into my minor accident the radiator was positioned exactly where the sc shaft is located. I know this may sound like common sense but I bet most people don't think about it. So try to be a little bit more cautious and alert about your front end!

Yeah, please let us more.. I'm thinking about it too, but very worry about traction issues if we can't use the VSA.. I already spin my wheels now when I turn it off, I can't imagine if I have the S/C, what might happen...

If you seperate the shaft from the blower, you will lose the lubricant and it will need to be serviced and resealed. You may be able to do this yourself, but either way you may be taking the entire blower off any way, but I'm not sure about that. It's not a problem if you can get 50k miles out of a set of plugs.

damn that sucks! so to replace your spark plugs or replacing your battery is going to cost about 500 for labor

nice shit!!! Lucky for you that you get bragging rights for a few months!! Soooo how good of a deal did they give you for using your car for testing?

As for the battery it looks like you could take out the icebox and slide the mini-me battery to the side and out from the spot were the icebox sits. It's no biggie you wouldn't have to take the blower out...

Don't get me wrong,...it's still worth it to be blown! The trick is to make sure your plugs are good for at least 50k miles. Your blower should prolly be serviced by then anyways.
