Comptech springs

Hey guys,
I was hoping someone could give me some suggestions on springs, shocks, and sway bars. I was going to order some comptech springs and the shop said I should order some shocks also.

And suggested I get sway bars also. I have about 50,000 miles on my car. Should I change out my shocks ? Or should I wait?

On a Comptech drop, replacing the shocks isn't super necessary. But with 50k on those shocks, it depends on how you drive and how they feel right now. But the Comptech springs are soft so they won't really wear out the stock shocks quick. I would recommend coilovers though, but it depends on how much money you are really looking to spend.

Sways, IMO, are a definitely must! They complement the springs very nicely and make the car handle much more stable.

Yup I agree. Don't forget that anything over 1.5 drop will require camber kit. I have 30K on my car, just had Eibach springs installed and I can pretty much tell my stock shocks are getting a workout. I'd probably invest in new shocks too since you already have 50k on your ride, might as well since you seem to be going for a suspension upgrade.

If you've got 50k on the shocks you might as well get them off. You'll save by getting struts installed with the springs. The Comptechs are great, and the sways are a MUST !!

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and ordered the springs. I going to wait on the shocks because they're good.

Have anyone installed the springs themselves? Is it hard? Do I have to take out the backseats?

I had a shop do my H&R's, but I am almost positive that the rear seat needs to come out to get to the rears....

Rear seat has to come out. It is a pretty tough install. Make sure you know what your doing or have someone do it. I left stock shocks in. I have about the same mileage as you. So far they are holding up.
