Comptech Performance Parts

I went on Comptech's website, and they indicated the following parts add the below-referenced amount of additional horsepower to '01 - '03 CLs:

Comptech Supercharger: +54-57 HP
Comptech Headers: up to +32 HP
Comptech Exhaust System Mufflers: +6-8 HP

For those that have these parts on their '01- '03 CL Type-S, are the gains they claim true, overestimated, or underestimated? Thanks!

well what kind of car do you have? there are huge differences for a CL-P, a CL-S or a CL-S 6speed.

I'll assume you have a CL-S auto since most here do. you should search but here it is:
stock is 195Whp. Headers CAI gets you about 230Whp, thats plus 35 and Icebox gets 6 so yes at one certain rpm, headers get about 30Whp. with CL-S auto you'll get 50Whp max off s/c, the 60 is only for the 6speed.

etc etc, just search for the numbers but yes the #'s are close enough/exact at the certain rpm for max gains.

I dont know the facts, but a loss of 65hp from the crank to the wheels seems a little much. maybe 40-45 but 65! I doubt it.

unfortunately the automatic has huge drive train loss with stock WHP at usually 200. I have noticed with only my CAI, headers, and UR crank pulley I have seen only an increase of 30-36 whp. This car is no powerhouse. if you are looking for something above 350 whp you must go custom turbo.

um comptech uses a 6speed for the stock dynos: 6speed has 210-215 at wheels STOCK. auto loses alot! so yes 195 at wheels stock it is. dont question my 2.5 years of research...just trust or shutup and search. lol!

if you want 350+Whp, you can also go with a Comptech S/C and a Hope intercooler and there were dynos on here many years ago saying 369HP at wheels off that [its 9psi].

i just tried searching to copy/paste to show you guys....i really hope they didn't delete all the old ass posts when they changed the format...im scared.

obx is generally seen to be junk. over time there's been cases where it will develop cracks that people will have to weld, improper fitment issues, and i think all of those non-comptech headers have issues w/ that flex flange or whatever it is being pretty much scraped and causing really bad resonating.

but u can also make the argument that 3 obx headers = price of 1 comptech =p.

more on topic w/ the thread, full comptech catback will get you like 5-6hp at the most unless u have forced induction

so any other headers set for under 400 bucks?
i saw the auction for DC headers on ebay for around 500, but it seemed like it was just two headers, no down/flex pipe.

does DC comes w/ everything too?
