Comptech Mufflers questions (for owners)

Comptech Mufflers questions (for owners)
Hi everyone. I know the comptech mufflers has the comptech logo on the side of the canister. I saw a picture of a pair I am looking to get, and there are some weird dark marks on a couple of the corners of the mufflers. The owner claims that they are welds, and all comptechs are like that. Can anyone verify for me please?

The welds are there, might just be a little dirty/worn to make them look black.
