Comptech Icebox, Need a receipt

Bought my comptech icebox about 9 months ago and the thing has already broke on me. I don't know if anyone has had this problem, but the screw mounts on the bottom portion of the box are turning in the plastic part.

So I call comptech and tell them this, they admit that they have heard of this problem and will give me a replacement only with a receipt, this is because they only carry a 2 year warranty.

Unfortunately, I am a fool when it comes to keeping receipts, so if anyone has a recent receipt from the past two years that I can use, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

the part he needs isn't affected by the 6 speed. he just needs the lower box portion.

I didn't have 1 when I got mine fixed. They didn't have any problem with it.
I had to pay to ship it back though.
Call back & tell them you can't find it & play dumb.

Maybe the warranty is 3 years, but thats not really the issue because I am under a year with this thing.

I will try giving them a call again tomorrow and playing dumb won't be a problem for me.

Like CleanCL said, I just need the bottom box and actually the top cover because I had to drill out the screw holes. So I dont really know what the differences are between the 6-speed and the Audo.

After paying 275 for the Icebox there is no way that I am gonna ghetto rig this thing. The design might be good for hp gains, but the quality of the materials is definitely lacking.

I really want to get this fixed because there is a small gap in the front part of the box and is making a slight whistle/hiss.

If anyone can hook me up, I will send them a 5 spot through paypal. I am not asking anything deceitful, I just want comptech to hold up their end of the warranty.

On the new design on the lower part of the Icebox they actually put a metal retainer for the screw so that the screw threads and locks into this rather than the previous plastic threads.

I find that hard to believe they won't budge. Who did you speak to? Is Chad still there?
It's a design defect, they have replaced many, I don't see why they are giving you a hard time.

Because they said they are sticklers for having a receipt. And yes, it is a design defect. The screws on that go into the bottom air box become stripped and just turn inside the plastic. Therefore, I had to drill them out to open my airbox.

I spoke with Natahan and he keeps telling me that they need a receipt to honor the warranty, he was nice but said that they couldnt do anything without one. I must have dropped about 2K on Comptech parts in the past year and they are giving me the run around like this. I will remember that when I think of buying car parts again.

Shad left and started his own place - Driving Ambition in Gold River, CA. Nate's pretty cool in Sales.

Well maybe someone can give me a hand then and speak to them. I only bought my Cl about 15 months ago and the Icebox about a year ago from some place online that I don't remember.

Nate said he is trying to work on it when I spoke to him on Tuesday, but I know what that means and I don't have time to be searching through everything for a receipt.

I am just annoyed cause I spent so much money on Comptech parts and this is a known defect in the older product.
