No trick tools, just a very strategically placed open ended wrench. I agree... getting to those things is a bitch! I should weld the nuts to the flange.

Did you like those 6 bolts and nuts that hold the headers and the A pipe together?

I saw a show yesterday that pointed out that you should install headers, run the car a few days, re-tighten the nuts, and repeat again as the seal expands and contracts and may loosen the headers.

I replaced mine (6 nut/bolts) with those that lock themselves when tight so that you don't have to have a little wrench in there - what a pain in the ass. The rear manifold is the other tough thing to replace - the rest is easy!

it took me a total of 2 hours to pull the stock ones off and install the comptech ones, with nothing else besides hand tools and a floor jack

I got a torque wrench on all of mine. The back manifold was a bear though. Kept smacking myself in the head with the wrench. Helps to have a bunch of different sockets, universals etc.

yeah its sucks. but think of all the money you saved!

and as chad said, the universals do help if you have enough space. the biggest help was my snap on stubby socket wrenches.

i used a couple of socket extensions, one was like a 3 or 5 inch and i also used one that swivels. Very easy to get to that one behind the alternator. I just sold my OBX's and replaced my old one, took about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.
