Rod you have to understand that what we don't need the supercharged CL-S will. It would be silly of Comptech not to offer something that would help the S/C perform its job better. Stock Cl-S is 260 HP while S/C is around 400 HP at the crank.

it bolts on to the stock exhaust and all the other ones also. rumor has it gives 7 hp with the stock exhaust I don't know how true that is but after my experience with the ICE box I don't doubt Comptech at all

I hate to speak for people but Ill answer to what I got from his post. When doing a catback system in order to get more HP at the higher RPMs the B-pipe is increased in diameter over stock. What this increase does is compromise the low end power of an engine to get the high end HP. so in other words you will lose some lbs. of torque in order to have a freer exhaust to get more HP at higher rpms. so what he is saying is since most of the time driving in the streets you are in the lower RPMs the catback design would not be of any use. HOPE that helps

You will lose low end torque and shift power upwards. So you sacrifice low end power for high rpm power. This is been done for years now on AV6 because we have a ton of catback exhaust system available. I eventually sold mine because it's just not practical for street driving. Now if Comptech is smart, they'll release one without pre-mufflers but a long inline glass-pack resonator + no crushes or minimal bends in the pipe. Take note that if they go up to 2.25" or 2.5" piping, low end power loss is even greater. I'm pondering on what this b-pipe's diameter will be if Comptech makes it.

Interesting because an engineer on the board has mentioned that the catalytic converter is enough back pressure to prevent any torque loss.....are we sure of this information. I was thinking they would split the b-pipe a couple of feet before the stock pipe splits sometimes a slight modification can do wonders. I just hope they don't make it out of titanium and say that its lighter and made of and start charging $500 for a dam B-pipe.

So any guesses as to what they did to gain 7hp? Our b-pipe is pretty straight. I would guess they ditched the silencer/resonator thing the stock one has. Although you'd think you might lose a little torque with the reduced back pressure. Hmm...
