Comp Tech install at Dealership

Okay guys, I got a call into the dealership were I bought my car. I asked my salesman to put me in contact with the guy in his service department that knows his shit and loves to install bolt on parts. I want to get my Headers, Sways and springs put on and ALL I WANTED WAS A COST TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD BE... now I know it is gonna be an outragous price because they said they would have to call me back on it... I figured i would get the car aligned while i was there and get the oil changed too... I will keep you guys posted on the cost... He should be returning my call shortly... I know I am going to laugh my ass off in his ear, but just maybe one of the techs has a love for these cars and likes to make a little extra money on the side...hint hint... but I am not holding my breath... I just figured I would get a loaner from the dealership for the day and the shit would be guarenteed since Acura will be installing it... I asked if this would void my warranty at all... HE SAID, BOLT ONS WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY... Internal components such as a VTEC controller will. So in closing, of my long ass speech.. I thought I would share this with my fellow CL'ers..

$10 says it will cost you about: ~$750

Dude, it's legal raping from dealerships to do mods. I got a quote for 8 hours on spring install.

Smitty...you buy me a case of Yeungling and I'll help you but your springs and sways on.

The headers and alignment I can't help you with.

I really question the need to have an alignment after install too. They can only adjust toe so unless your car is steering off to oneside like crazy I don't think it's necessary. It's also like $100 for all four wheels.

Also, if you have one of the mechanics "do it on the side" I doubt it will be covered under warranty. I would assume they have to charge a butt load to cover any of the installs under warranty.

Get the Kentucky Jelly out...cause Baierl Acura's about to rape you a new one.

I can't wait for tomorrow...Comptech Sways baby!!!

DDT Type-S...

Good guess.....

what is Baierl Acura thinking...3hrs total for sways???

6hrs for springs I can understand...if you are manually jacking up your car and compressing the springs with a Pep Boys manual spring compressor.

Headers...I have no clue. Never done them so I don't know what's involved.

Park Avenue Acura installed my Springs & Sways and did a full 4-Wheel alignment in under 4-Hours and that included two test drives.

I don’t know what the actual labor rate was, but this is what the bill shows:

Springs:
Parts = 299.95
Labor = 220

Sways:
Parts = 299.95
Labor = 75.00

4_wheel Alignment was 49.95

Total with tax was just over 1000 bucks.

dealer quoted me $750 for spring install
then later $450 for a spoilder install
but then with sways they finally gave me a decent quote of $100 (local shop wanted $120) so I got those done at the dealer, although they did complain it took them longer then they thought (2.5 hours vs 1.5)
