Common problem areas around 75k? and a few other small ?'s

Hey I found an 03 CLS 6 speed that I'm hopefully checking out this weekend with 77,000 miles on it. Its got a 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty which is nice but I'll blow through those 23k miles in 1-1.5 years. Just curious of any problem areas to look for when looking at the car or things to expect going forward. Also what do you guys average for gas mileage on the highway since thats where 90% of my driving is, I'm hoping for just around 30 if I take it easy, is that unreasonable? Thanks for the help!

30 is not unreasonable as long as you keep off the heavy acceleration...

Not really any problems. There are some typical CL issues such as the IMRC funtionality, warping rotors, rattles, purge soleniod clicky noise. They are all minor and it's a hit or miss on all of them. I'm sure I missed a few but I'll let someone else chime in.

Oh, check out this page for tons of info: https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/chicago-cruisin-66-car-show-invite-181322/

It's still a work in progress but we're getting there.

To make soomething perfectly clear here... The car you're looking at (6spd) should prove to be a very reliable and bullet proof car. You should be able to hit 30mpg if you're doing mostly highway driving. The AT's seem do get slightly better fuel milage than the 6spds but considering the size and power of these vehicles, I think it's very acceptable. I get on avg. 24-25mpg/tank full in my AT and thats mostly city driving. Also, I get on it all the time. My best was 33, almost 34mpg on a road trip. If there had been another gas station further down the road, I would have tried to squeeze more out of it but I had no choice but to stop when I did.

That doesn't sound too bad at all. Thanks much for the FAQ page, I must have glanced over that at some point when looking for one. I drove an 03 Accord 6speed the other day and loved it so I'm assuming the CLS will feel somewhat similar but more powerful.
