Name brands are able to be vouched for. You pay for the credibility. And piece of mind I guess.

Engineering of air flow is a science....there is a definite difference in both build quality AND airflow characteristics.

I know this first hand....when I first bought my CL, I got one of those $40 jobs off ebay...it didn't fit right, and I didn't feel any HP increase. Additionally, it kept falling apart b/c it didn't fit right.

I then got a AEM CAI, and it fit great and I felt a difference in VTEC.

Don't waste your money.

or

you can contact one of our vendors in the BlackMarket GroupBUY section.. they have the best prices around.

On the contrary, I also bought one of the ebay job's along with an AEM. On my dyno at my shop, they had about the same power gains. The only thing I'd suggest is getting a good filter on the end of the intake because the cheaper intake use cheaper, smaller air filters.

An intake is pretty much a piece of pipe with a filter on it. Other than a couple of them (the AEM V2's intake comes to mind) they are bent the same, have the same diameter. The V2 uses lots of engineering and is an amazing intake.

I have a 40 dollar aluminum intake on my both my BMW and my Acura. And i'm perfectly happy with them!

Here is a pic of my "cheap" intake with the AEM sticker on it (I have an AEM bypass don't I??) Most people don't have any idea that it's not an AEM. And I know, my engine is dirty, I haven't had a chance to clean under the hood in awhile.
