Coilovers?
Coilovers?
I am wanting to get coilovers to swap out my Comptechs with. Which kind should I get? How hard are they to raise and lower the car? Do you think the ride will be better than with the Comptechs?
i have the ground controls in my car and they're very easy to raise and lower. you dont even have to take the tire off. as far how good the ride will be compared to the comptechs, i have no idea.

If I were to get coilovers I'd get the nex or tein. They are the full assembly as opposed to the sleeve type. Ground Controls, v-specs, skunk2's are all sleeve type. They are inexpensive but don't ride as well as full on coilovers. IMHO. Just my .02 cents
However, from the sleeve types I'd most likely go with the ground controls because they utilize Eibach springs in their setup.

from what i've heard about Tein's is that they're really stiff. If Progress ever comes out with a full coilover setup, I'll upgrade to that.
Webtoker,
Keep pressing this issue. I too am interested in lowering the car about 1 inch or maybe a smidge more but want to enhance the handling not create a bouncer on the highway. I also am not interested in doing a total Koni/Spring job...too much $$

I have the Apexi Coilovers on my 99 TL. The ride is pretty close to stock and the handling is 100% better. I don't know about the Nex or Tein's ride/handling characteristics but the Apexi is very good in both areas.
BTW, my TL is dropped close to 3". But I can slam it to the ground for a show if I need to. And I believe the maximum drop is @ 5-6".
