Cocoa vs Modded Evo 8

So anyways, I got my car back finally. Well, the damn thing just flies to 7k like it's nothing, so you can imagine the traction issue I'm having now. Because of this, my friend let me have the start since we both knew I wasn't going to go anywhere.

So, I'm at the light lined up with my friend in his Evo. The light goes green and I try to go down on the gas gently hoping to get somewhat of traction. Well, I didnt, I let off the gas and then had to gently hit it again. By this time my friend decided to take off, which had him right by my side. I went into second doing slightly better, and ended up having to let off the gas just a tad bit, at the same time correcting the torque steer. I go into 3rd gear, and he's right by me still, he's pulling and I'm losing traction in 3rd. A slight turn approaches and I decide to not risk it, and stop the race in the middle of 3rd. He was a good 1/2 -1/3 car length in front. Ehh, not to bad.

My other friend drove my car with me in it, and ran my friend's Evo from a roll. Didnt do bad at all, the Evo was in front by a bumper only because my friend missed 3rd gear. Had he not missed, we would have stayed in front by like a 1/4 of a car. Just barely were we ahead, but it was nice seeing the Evo not pull. I'm pretty satisfied with the swap, and cant wait to see what she does with the 125 shot and slicks.

Btw, his mods are:

Downpipe, straight pipe, full cat back, air filter, and raised the boost by 2 lbs.

edit: i'm not sure i want to run you now. you might have a crazy power swerve or serious loss of traction and go right into me.

they must be grade A Mexican slicks. or they are going to be anyway. if nothing were to be done about the traction issue plus aggressive driving.

How is it well worth it when you cant even get traction? I would hate to have spent alot of money (im assuming) and not even be able to drive it the way I want to.

if you want to optimize your traction and reduce torque steer as much as you can definitely get some quality slicks, fill your motor mounts with polyureathane, and get an engine dampner.
if you have money to blow you can get a real professional to custom make a custom front bump steer kit. http://www.livermoreperformance.com/...alignment.html as seen here for an NSX.

3 out of the 4 mounts I have are polyureathane.

Slicks will solve the issue. I'm on 205/55/R16 Azenis. You know damn well if the CLS's were on 205, they'd be spinning forever as well. I just need wider sticky tires...

Yes, still have the Azenis. When the time comes, I'll have the Kuhmo V710's on wider rims for track events. (again, circuit, not drag)

No cat, no resonator, and with an Apexi N1 muffler, yea, it's loud.

I agree,

Might want to hold back on some of the hard racing Chris, thats how I ended doing my swap and not staying supercharged.

Hey , I was wondering if you have a check engine light. After I got the CL-S /6speed swap done, I've always had this engine light on. When I checked it out, it had something to do with the fuel pressure sensor. If you know the fix, please let me know. Aidan never fixed it for me and maybe you'd like to help me out.

The only reason why I have a check engine light is because I dont have a cat and my oxygen sensors are toast due to the leaded gas I used. But those were the only codes that came up.

As for having an LSD, yes, the 03' CLS 6 speed trannies have one.
