Clutch Slipping?
Had a wierd reoccurance that I cannot figure out... can anyone offer a suggestion? On a hard launch I spin hard (lots of rubber) till red line, shift hard to 2nd, more rubber, tach climbs quickly, but I am not going anyplace real fast, shift again at redline, revs seem to climb too qiuckly without the corresponding shift in speed.
I am thinking that either my tires got really hot and were slipping or I have an impending clutch problem. I am running Toyo TPT's with appox 60% left of them. I really hate these tires as they seem to breal loose really easily and are the shits in rain.
Anyone had a similar problem?

I had my clutch go at 32,000km. The dealership didn't warranty and said that it was my fault. (I bought a demo with 10k on it, and it's been abused severely). Basically, when the clutch is slipping there may be delay in wheels starting to spin. Another way to check for slippage is put it in a higher gear while moving slower and push gas to the floor. If the car revs up, then you know your clutch is toast.
In any circumstance I'm sure your clutch is slipping a bit. The clutches in the CL's are SOOOO tiny. Just like an S2000 clutch - starts slipping after 2-3 hard launches.

Thanks guys... I will do a search. I could not smell the clutch burning.
Man... clutch going at 32K, that is crazy. I have 90K on mine. How much did it cost you to have it done?

about that one. Ive done a hell of a lot more than 2-3 hard launches and my clutch is rock solid at 35K miles. From what ive heard the CLS6 clutch holds up pretty well and can handle well above stock HP. Maybe you got a dud.
