Clutch Damper

Hey Guys,

Do any of you know anything about the damper that is in the hydraulic clutch release system on the CL 6 speed? It's supposed to slow down the engagement of the clutch for smoother take up. I was thinking about removing it. I would prefer a little more response to an artificially smooth engagement. Has anyone taken this out? The NSX clutch installation instructions on the Comptech site call for removing the damper on that car. I wonder if there would be any benifit or harm with removing this on the CL.

I e-mailed Comptech to see if they have the NSX damper bypass available and if they have any thoughts on removing it. It seems these dampers are pretty common on hydraulic clutches. Here is a post about installing one on a Civic to get rid of vibration through the clutch pedal. I don't think this would be a problem for me as I never have my foot on the pedal unless I am shifting.
