Clunking sound when I press the brake pedal in PARK
I can hear a clunkking sound when I press the brake pedal while the trany is in PARK. the sound is coming from under the gear shifter. It sounds like an mechanical device is unlocking...
Anyone has noticed that? Any fix, or is it normal?
Thanks.

yes i think alot of people have noticed it. i have heard that it is fine and doesnt cause any problems...its the mechanism unlocking the shifter so that it can shift out of park...u can even feel it if u put your hand on it

Yeah, i get it too - it just the car unlocking the shifter.
It's interesting that the colder it is outside, the more noise our cars make. Rattles and clicks and bangs all seem to dissapear, at least for me, when the warm weather starts to roll in.

My wife says I clunk now in park sometimes too. Especially since I am older and its pretty cold here too...I guess our cars are allowed to show their age too.
