cls6 vs pontiac firebird
I'm not sure what year firebird, but it looked similar to this and i can hear a very heavy rumble of its exhaust.
We approached a light and both took off fairly slowly, i was in 2nd at around 50km/hr and then oddly enough we both hit it at the same time, through out 2nd and 3rd we were almost dead even, although I might even think i crept about 1/3 car length on him as his front bumper was at my driver side door. I don't think i finished 3rd, but i shut down around 110-120km/hr as there's many cops on this stretch.
anyone have more info on these cars and what they can do stock? or was he just playing with me?

that is the 02 collectors edition T/A. 5.7 liter LS1 350hp V8 I believe.
I hope you have more mods listen then just a CAI, cause theirs no way you would be able to hang with that unless he spun through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Yep, I agree with the above post.
They have enough power to roast 2nd gear if they shift too hard (I owned a 98 Z28 w/ the same engine 2 years ago so I know).
The cars run low 13s at 108ish mph when driven by competent drivers. They're no joke.

i read there are 200 hp 225tq versions of the firebird.. like i said, it only looks like that but may not be the transam version or the 300+ hp one. Was most likely the 200hp firebird with some mods..

If you beat it, it definately wasnt a trans am or formula. No offense, but no CL can keep up with a T/A stock for stock pretty much. It probably was the firebird V6, but if it looked kind of like that pic, I dont see how someone went through all that work to make their car look like the anniversary edition T/A and only have a V6 under the hood.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it was a v-6 bird. My trans am ran a 13.2 stock. With bolt ons i ran a 12.6 on street tires, spinning through 1st and 2nd. On Drag radials i ran a 12.2 with a 1.6 60'
