CLS6 vs 2012 335i Coupe
CLS6 vs 2012 335i Coupe
My boy just got a brand new BMW 335i coupe. An automatic, they push 300hp.
Anyways he's talkin enough shit, I know for a fact I'm a way better driver than him. Would my CL-S6 have any chance against him from a roll? I'm bone stock. Or should I wait before I'm fully bolted to try and stick it to him

Just wait!! But you may get tired of waiting because even after Headers, CAI and Pulleys you are going to still have to wait. If you are not SC you dont have a chance and even after SC it will still be a tight race.
x2. I've had no problems with 335's and that's with 5.5psi, so yeah....
Didn't say a stock CL will win, but he'll have a chance if it's from a roll. Whomever had that blown CL should

I had a fbo CL-S and moved to a 335xi. From mid rpms of about 3.5k it felt as if my stock 335 was only slightly faster than the cl-s almost barely noticeable. Both cars have similar feels at higher speeds, they're very composed so you're going faster than you actually feel.
But my xi stock loses a little more up top with the drivetrain lose and additional weight so if his is just an (i) than it will be even faster from a roll over 20mph.
Just make sure he doesn't have a tune or any mods himself if so he would put buslengths on you at any speed.
Good luck, be safe.

Morgan was the S/C CL running right? If the 335i was bone stock, the CL should've had no problem pulling away. I've ran the 'i' and neither pulled up to 100mph with the exception of him getting a better launch. There's a semi-local RSX-s with I/RH/E/RBC intake manifold/KPro tune that pulled ever so slightly on a 6MT XI. He also pulled 1.5 cars on a fully bolted 6MT TL.

He will beat you stock. You will need many-a-mod to keep up. But then he'll do something as simple as get a chip and then he'll beat you again. Those n54/n55's are tremendously responsive to mods.
I just got back from Linden NJ a couple hours ago. I went up there with a buddy to purchase his new car. He bought a 07 335i coupe 6 speed bone stock. I have to say that car is badass. It drives amazing and is so smooth. It was a six hour trip which was very comfortable. Once we got back to my house we were both leaving to get something to eat and we wanted to have a little fun. He isn't used to the car 100% so I will say that before hand. We ran from about a 40 roll both in 2nd gear. We were dead even side by side until about 100 then we both braked. He said he short shifted a little so I just wanted to share that with you guys. I'm putting my headers on this weekend and the rest of my exhaust on Mon, my goal is to break 300whp. Will race again and maybe this time I'll take some video for you guys to enjoy. Hopefully I walk away from him lol. The CLS6 surprises me more and more every time I race new cars lol.

Reese has a perfect example of a modded j32 vs a 335 in the kills thread. The 335 was auto but was def modded, ever so slightly edged him out. I think it ran a 13.2 vs his 13.3
Mine hasn't yet. I still have to install custom headers and the rest of the exhaust. I also have a aem fic to tune the car. The last thing is the clutch setup and that should free up a few more hp since the flywheel will be a lot lighter than stock. Then my car will have full bolt ons which should make somewhere very close to that number.

It was tuned on an EMS2 and had no accessories (a/c,p/s). I dont remember them saying what dyno got those numbers or had any other numbers for comparison. The EMS has the functionality to free up about 20-30hp depending on mods, which makes a huge difference. Most CL-S6's that have your mods put down around 255whp. Your engine seems pretty healthy though with what it put down in the past, so when you finally open up the exhaust you may break that.

lol. Yeah mine definitely runs strong. Will see what it can really do soon. Remember I'm also spraying mine with a 125 shot so I know it will make at least 400whp on spray.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaa lol those 335i are fast as hell . They're stock twin turbo. Put a jb3 chip on one of those and they run with the new M3's .
I've seen one run a 3.9 0-60 . cl doesn't have a chance , with someone who knows how to drive .

p2r accord did.
Like already posted in that other thread, p2r said they were close to 300 even without tune. Also look at like reese's car 280 to wheels 3.2. You can get higher than 255 with accesories on a N/A 3.2. I know everyone will be skeptical tho.

Do you have or know where I can find a dyno of their car before the tune?
Im more interested in seeing the gains they got then anything. I dont care about peak numbers because every dyno reads differently, so HP numbers are only really important if youre using them to see before/after mods.

Well being I'm too lazy to look up his car. What has to be done to get the 3.2 to 300. I mean that's close to 90 who over most deltas if I remember. Don't nose stock 3.2s dyno about 210
I was trying to read the top left part, where it gives max hp and max tq.
but then realized its at the bottom of the chart as well.
IT WOULD BE 10X better if you scanned.
