Equal Drivers...I'm thinking WRX will take most of those runs.

Agreed... A well driven WRX will take the others.

However... From a roll. I like the G or the CLS.

I think they are pretty well matched. if they are all manual trannies, i'd say the wrx may edge out off the line, but down the line because of the higher hp and torque the g35 and the cls would probably take the little sucker.

oh and because there is an option for a standard short shifter on the WRX that's the other reason why i think it'll take us off the line.

I think its close between the G35 and CL-S 6spd. The WRX isn't that great unless its the STi

Wow, I guess I am the odd ball here. I would think the G35 would win(assuming stick) then the CLS, and the WRX in last. I've raced a few WRXs at the track and won each time(they were only mildly modded) even when I was stock, and a CLS with intake and Headers should be better than I was stock.

Oh well, I guess I'm different for more than what I drive.

G35 whould run low 14s, the CLS with mods should be mid to low 14s, and the WRX is high 14s to low 15s. Thats just based on my experiance at the track, your results may vary.

wrx is suppossed to run low low 14's stock, but awd can be pretty tricky to launch from what i've heard. Most new drivers tend to bog or smoke the clutch in wrx's, resulti ng in high 14, low 15 runs when they are capable of better.

From a roll I say G35coupe. Actually I say G35coupe all the way. WRX and cl-s are close in the 1/4 but the cl will punkit from a roll.

You guys got me thinking now. I have raced 2 WRXs at the track, and won easily both times. They weren't even hitting 14s(2700ft). Is it that most people don't beat on them hard enough at the track?

I saw on Carstats.com that C&D got a 14.1 out of it @96. I run 14.2@97, but in both races I've had, I won by about .5sec!!! I guess people don't know how to drive them.

Ding, Ding, Ding........We have a winner

90% of the time one the street you are up against a guy who just bought the car for the all wheel drive in the snow

At the track its probably a kid who has no clue what their doing. Also keep in mind that the WRX is designed mainly as a rally/autocross car not a drag car

you must of raced a couple like me. i was intimidated at first but then realized after the launch it's easy to reel them back in.

i just raced a wrx. looked stock exterior wise. but he really knew what he was doing. from a launch, he took a 1 car lead. my launch wasnt the greatest so that didnt help much.
anyways, he had three gauges mounted on the a pillar. I know he had some mods, just never talked to him. By end of 2nd gear, he still had one car on me. when i hit third, i started to pull, and as soon as i pulled on him he would let off.
second time we did it, he gave up even earlier.
he was pretty smart for doing this. he knew he couldnt keep the lead so he lets off at 65-70
i just wish i had a chance to ask him what he had. i know it wasnt stock...

once WRX's hit 3rd they die... if this were a 1/4 mile race I say the WRX, however if we're talking about going past 105 MPH, I would say the G35 will pull away. Now, on a slow roll (1st gear) Id say if the CL-S were sitting in VTEC it will do impressively well

sounds like a carbon-copy of how my race went sith a modded wrx. except i was in my previous car. 02' altima3.5se 5spd w/ stillen inatake & exhaust. i beat him twice even off the line but then he let me have it. third time he wound that thing out dropped the clutch. he must of leaped a full car length before i knew what happened. anyways 2nd & 3rd gear in the altima was strong. i had my nose out front by the middle of third gear.

I was absolutely destroyed by a WRX at the track the other night. He launched like f*ck, and ran a 12.4 @ 110!! He had a 1.8 60'!! I guess he knows how to drive his.

No doubt about that. He left off the line ridiculously. It was like a bomb went off, and he was way ahead of me instantly.
