CLS with a stock 99 lexus GS400

after a good indoor karting race tonight my friend and I finally tried the performance of my new CLS with Headers in Quebec,Canada. The temp was 35, VSA off and my gas tank was almost empty.
we tried 2 runs until 160 km and my acura won by inches. I am totally surprised. I was very strong below 100 km. My friend said that it was very slippery for him. He now wants to change his electronic chip from the Toyota dealer. What de you think are my chances to survive with this modification ? I think he was pissed off because I paid half the price for my car and mine is as fast.

How else in this newsgroup race those 4 stroke karts ?

Well, he'll probably smoke you...

Just imagine (with equally skilled drivers) a CL-S w/ i/h/e should keep up with a GS400, if not beat it...the Lexus has 300hp stock, the CL-S has about the same after mods...both should run around 14.3 in the 1/4...

A chipped GS400 will probably have about 330hp, give or take a few hp. A lot of European cars can achieve a 30+hp gain with simply just a chip. Easy mod, someone should make a chip for our cars...

So yeah, he'll smoke you unless you get the 3.5L kit, s/c or NOS...

yep. You guys probably would run even with headers, CAI. Toyota does not make a replacement ECU.
I am waiting for mo at swift racing to deliver my HFI2 intake and Ecu piggy back computer which is calibrated for my free flow exhaust. it should push about 335hp but torque increase to about 340-345!and test runs before and after have shown a 0-60 increase of about .17 to i think .22 sec, but the Gs400 really shine from 50mph to about 110 and beyond! still cant hang with that amg e55

That's a nice ride you have there

I don't really know much about Lexus performance parts...is there a supercharger available for the GS430? Any informative links? I'm looking into getting the Lexus or the C32...in a few years...

Not hard to believe at all. I am a firm believer that the CL-S is a great launcher so I don't find it hard to believe at all. The CL-S or TL-S, IMO can launch off the line really well. It's just the rolling starts and high end that the CL-S lacks performance. In any case, great race!! And I don't think that the GS400 should be discredited simply cuz it got beaten by a $30K car, the GS is still a great car.
