cls replace front/side mount? or rear too?
Well my mounts are shot in my 03 auto cls. I'm about to order the front and side mount, but do I need to replace the rear too? I can't look right now which is why i'm asking. I did a search and saw that most people replace the front and side but was curious why I havn't read much about the rear? Does it not go out that often or something? Thanks in advance for any help.
the only way to really tell is for you to get under there and look/feel around.
it's a pretty good bet that if the other mounts are shot your rear is too.
are you going to buy locally or online? who's doing the install.

The rear tends to hold up a bit better, but if your 03CLS has never had them replaced the odds are good that it's bad as well. As Mike said, you'll need to feel around and see if there's any fluid leaking from it. With a flash light you can also look at the top and see if there's anything there.
As to getting them installed, the front and side are pretty easy. The rear on the otherhand is a real pain in the
. It requires disconnecting the intake, exhaust, one of the power steering hoses, bypass valve actuator, rear crossmember dampners. I know some don't do all these, but to get the rear mount out you need to jack the motor up pretty high and you risk damaging things. It's not real complex, but real involved . . and a 2nd set of hands is a real help on this one. It's also why it's pretty costly to take it to a dealer.
Anyway, good luck.

Thanks for the help Ruf. I'm going to be having a mechanic friend do it on the side. I'll be getting the parts from acuraoemparts (unless someone knows a cheaper place). I think I'm just going to do the front and side as the rear looks fine and I don't really want to deal with all the work involved in replacing it.

You might want to try posting on the DFW thread and see if anyone has a mechanic in the area. Where exactly are you? Let me know and I'll chew on it and see if I can think of someone. BTW, do you know if all 3 are gone or??
