CLS or IS300 both Manual
CLS or IS300 both Manual
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a CL type S brand new 6 spd. The one thing I was wondering is has anyone tried racing the RSX type S with a CL type S? Which is faster and how much?
I have raced about half a dozen. I have never been beaten by stock or modded on the street. Thre was one RSX-S at the strip the other day modded which ran a 15.4 @ 89 mph with exhaust and intake...

The car was soooo much better w/ the 6MT over my 5AT... oh my.. no comparison. I've driven both the RSX-S and CL-S 6MT's to the limit (straight runs) on test drives and the CL-S is just stronger w/ much more low end power. 2nd gear seems to be much stronger in particular in the CL-S over the RSX. Not to mention the Cl-S just looks tons better than the RSx (dual exhaust chrome widened tips, longer, sleeker, not nearly as fugley as the RSX).
I would have to agree that the CL-S 6spd will beat the RSX-S. The CL-S 6spd like the RSX-S will suffer less loss of hp at the wheels since it's a manual and also since it has 60hp more at the crank than the RSX...granted it weighs more...should be able to out due the RSX.
Your opinion?
If you had the choice to get an IS300 or a CLS both M, which would you rather get and why? For me it's been a tough choice but I've been leaning more towards the CLS. Since I live in chicago there are 4 seasons here so I have to deal with the stupid snow. I've test driven both cars. The CLS and the IS both at Mcgrath. The nice thing was when I test drove the IS300, the salesman just let me take it out for a spin by myself. At the Acura dealer it wasn't too bad either. The only thing I don't like about the CL is the the seats don't go low enough so my head is right under the ceiling of the car and the clutch of the CL I'm not too fond of yet, but I think that's just a matter of time getting used to it. The IS300 however drives very smoothly but it feels fairly weak compared to the CL.

The IS300 has far more potential than the CL-S, but it's going to Cost $$$$$$. It has a much wider range of aftermarket parts. I would have gotten the IS300 if it didn't cost so much. In my case, I got my CL-S and can smoke any non-turbo IS out there. Turbo is a different story. If you're looking for value, I would get the Acura, if you have tons of money to waste I would get the IS. You're call.
