Bought my CL-s in May 00 only very minor noises, like the creek I get when I firmly press my leg against the center console. There is a fix for the sunroof creaking....have the dealer install the Accord sunroof tape--and also make sure that you open the sunroof after you wash the car and wipe off the rubber seal--it gets really dirty. I find that if I wipe it off, the seal is much better.

My other car is a 01.5 VW Passat--top of the line V6, Wagon, 4 WD. Compared to my CL, this thing drives me nuts! When I go over a bump I hear plastic creek in the center dash, something in the passengers door, and something from some place in the back seat. Its very diheatening for me, to have spent $33K on a VW and it creeks like an old Neon sometimes. But its mainly a mulch hauler....

I'm wondering if the Acura build quality dropped off after the first years of this model. It seems that the creeks are more prevalent in the newer cars...or at least thats my take from what I read here.

only sunroof from time to time, the remedy is to keep the flap closed.

other than that, smooth sailing on smooth pavement.

 

Personally, my car doesn't have too many rattles. It's got the uber-annoying sunroof rattle, but I can live with that. The thing I hate is the seat belts. 99.9% of the time, they don't retract right and if the passenger just unbuckles, gets out and closes the door, you've just got your seat belt caught in the door. Worse still if the metal buckle is caught just right there and gives you a little ding. Anyone know how to fix that? Dealer says that they can't do a thing about it.

 

I had to have my dash top replaced.Took 2 dashs to make it stop and 2 weeks w/o my car :o( It would squeek and chirp right in the middle where it comes in contact with the heating/ac vent. I would really act up when it was cold and hot, but not when it was a perfectly nice day outside. So needless to say, living in SoCal its not that bif of a thang.

More rattles are comin around now, I can't pin-point them, but I have a lot comin from the sunroof, I am hopin that the new sway bars that are goin in soon will help w/ that a little by stiffening the car up some. The other one that really gets me, WHY THEY HAD TO PUT THE WEAKEST SPRINGS IN THE TRUNK? I park on a hill with the back of the car on the downslope, I can't friggen get it to stay open! argh!

 

Yeah, I got the same problems as thorin. But not just for the CL. Have the same thing with my Mazda MX6 and my buddy's MB C230.

Had rattle in the sunroof-Keyes acura fixed it.
Had rattle in the rear near center brake light-Keyes acura fixed it.
No rattles since:-)

 

Cos it was the best bang for the buck.
