CLS 14.5second run (VIDEO)

here's new video from sohc.vtec.net:

http://sohc.vtec.net/video/02types/cls_drag320x240.mpg

HERE'S THE SHOCKER:

they ran that sh1t in 80+ degree heat and humidity down in 'bama, and adjusted the times to actually be: 14.2 @ 98mph, under better conditions

the second link does not work...
The first run he hit the rev limiter like 2 times...
14.5 is not bad...

I'm on 56K so I can't just d/l the file and take a peak... But it sounds like this has been posted here before... And from what I remember, the vid. is fake... Notice how the posted time is at night, when the racing was done during the day???

Umm, the vids aren't fakes. They did the twisties during the day on secluded roads, and probably hit the track later that night. They SHOW the car doing the run twice. If they're faking it(which I seriously doubt) then they are damn good.

Humm, I see a Pontiac in the 2nd race, but don't see anyone near him in the 2nd race.

Other than hitting the rev limiter, it was a pretty good run over all, and most importantly, won both races.

According to the article this is a stock car, right down to the poor tires. The article even mentions that with corrections for heat/humidity the car could go faster (14.2-14.3). I imagine that with better tires that is not entirely out of the question.

I will rarely (if ever) push my car like that, but it is nice to have all that power (and a little luxury) under your butt.

Cool!! Great vid!! I'm happy to see that my auto 2K2 Max is only running 2 tenths slower than a 6sp CLS under similar temp. conditions.
