CLP Owner Newbie

Hello All,

Just a quick message to say hello and ask a stupid newbie question.

Just got a 2003 Satin Silver/Ebony CLP w/Sunroof. Iit is bone stock with the exception of a recently added Cobra 9700 RD. I will post some pics when my camera is fixed, or I can borrow one.

I have been thinking about mods, and after looking over quite a few threads here, I have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer for:

Are the engines the same in the CL-S and CL-P? I understand (?) that the difference is in the intake and exhaust? If this is not correct, what are the differences?

Thanks!

The major difference is the throttle body.

Welcome to Acurzine, and the elite CL-P owners club

THe differences between the engines in the Type S and the regular is domed pistons which give it a higher compression ratio. A larger throtle body. A dual stage intake system that activates at 4500 RPM to allow more air in. A better flowing exhaust. I also believe they have more aggressive cams. They also have VSA which is supposed to be better than traction control, but from what I've heard on the site, doesn't seem to be. They also have a larger turning radius then us. They have preforated leather seats and steering wheel. White gauges with a higher red line.

Thats about it. If you search you will find multiple threads with much more detailed answers, but thats about it. Good luck with the car.

Me=way too many points (stupid Washington, DC/Virginia cops)=$$$ insurance, so...

Me=CLP

If my rates would have been better, I probably would have gotten a CLS. But, I am also very curious what is coming from Acura as far as future coupes (rumors are about one based on the new RL?)
