climate control

is it normal for the climate control display to be lit up even when the a/c or heater isn't running? i'm pretty sure that nothing on the climate control is supposed to be lit unless the headlights are on...but i just noticed tonight that even when i turn the a/c off and no font is showing on the display, it's still lit (i did the led conversion a few weeks ago). can anyone confirm this?

Mine is only on when the lights are on, if your climate control is totaly off, the light should be off also.

the only thing that's really changed since i did the mod was when i took it to the acura dealer to get my srs light checked out...they reset it. does ANYONE have a clue as to why my climate control display stays lit up anytime the key in the ignition is in the "II" position or when the engines on even when the a/c is turned off?

i'm thinking its like this, the resistance of the new LEDs different then the lights you took out and i think its lower, well what i think happens is that there is always power to the lights sockets but because the lights before had a higher resistance then the leds you have now they stayed off, and when you turned the HVAC unit on they got full voltage, well i'm thinking because the resistance is lower the leds are actually using the power that is supplied at the socket and lighting up. i hope you got what i was trying to say, its hard to explain and i don't even know if i'm right but thats what i think is happening.

i kind of understand, but the thing is im using the correct resistors (470 ohm) and i didn't have this problem before...it JUST started happening. i guess it's not that big of a deal, but i kind of want to get to the bottom of this though...

then double check your resistors maybe they went dead. next time try getting your hands on military grade resistors, they are a ton better then what you can get at like radio shack, your just going to have to search to find a company that sells them.
