OK, here's something I've noticed recently on my '01 CL-S... When driving at low speeds, like in a parking garage with the windows down, I hear a really loud CLICK noise coming from under the car when switching gears. This happens most, and loudest when slowing down (2 to 1). Kinda sounds like the noise the tranny makes when you put it in park on a hill and it locks.

Is this normal? It's loud enough to turn heads, and some people have asked what's wrong with my car! It's got about 30,000 miles on it and was manufactured in Nov. '00.

I also (of course) experience very rough down-shifts, weird tranny/engine activity on the highway (jerking... and it's not the air or fuel filter), and the lovely jumping forward at stop lights if your foot isn't PLANTED on the brake! Oh, and if I'm on a hill, the car will coast backwards (more so than on other auto's) and if you don't gas it instantly, start jerking like a choppy clutch on a manual.

Any ideas?

See the dealer about the transmission, shift solenoids or Powertrain Control Module...

Could be something else, but that's what the dealer is there for...


My car does not make any of the sounds and the rough stuff and jerking is not OK...
