clearing headlights but......

All, since my car is motionless due to waiting for new wheels, I have decided to do a couple easy mods. Among these are clearing my headlights. I read the instructions and did everything up to the part with the 3 or 4 phillips screws on the bumper. Those suckers dont budge at all. I have tried everything to get em off but with no luck.

HELP!

You have to get a hair dryer and heat it up really really good and it helps if you have a friend helping you heat it up while you pry it open with a flat head screwdriver . It took me prob a tot of 8-10hrs to do this crap its a pain in the ass but you'll be happy with the finished product

maybe I should rephrase -- I am talking about the screws that hold the bumper on

you mean the 3 that are under the black plastic piece that protect the top of the bumper from the hood? If so, yeah I hard a hard ass time w/ those too. Use some WD-40 or something and let it soak in really good. I stripped one of the screws and had to drill it out, so be careful.

Oh shit those 3 screws ....... Yeah i stripped the hell out of one so i had to drill straight threw it ....with an electric drill . I found out that using a manual screwdriver won't work ...all that you'll do is strip it so the best way to do it is get an electric drill and push down really hard and take your time so that you dont strip it

We just sprayed on top of the screws and around the head of the screw. Yeah, you gotta press down really hard on the screw in order to get them turning.

I had the same problem at first but you will need to go and buy a #1 phillips screwdriver...There are 3 different sizes...with this #1 phillips the screw comes off at ease....no stripping of the screws...

There's a tool you can buy a home depot that will save you a ton of hassle. It essantially looks like a beefy screwdriver, but when you smack the end of it with a hammer, it turns slightly. It's designed to loosen extremely tight screws without any damage. Good luck.

thanks for all of your input guys, I really appreciate it -- the method that I finally got to work was just a high torque drill and REALLY holding it against the screw.... thanks again!
