Claying question

So I finally ordered this Zaino stuff, but I didn't get the z-7 car wash, so I can't mix it with water for lubricant. Is there anything I can buy locally that will work well as a lube when I attempt to clay the car?

Thanks

You could probably use any type of liquid car wash. I used Z7 as a lubricant when I recently clayed my car, but the Z7 it seems to have the same consistency as a typical over the counter car wash product.

What kind of soap? Most detergent based soap will strip off the wax on your car.

Heh heh. Thats the idea. The claying should be done after washing with dawn acoording to Sal Zaino. Why? Because Dawn removes the wax. The clay also removes the wax but its supposed to be used to remove the industrial contaminents (<--spelling?) that are under the original wax. It's amazing how much smoother the paint feels.

4pumpedCL,
I use Turtle Wax car wash as a lubricant. So far works just fine.

As long a syou pick car wash soap that is a big name you will be ok. What I like to use is Zymol, or Meguairs car wash where you can pick up at any pep boys.
