Clancking under the hood when engine is cold

I noticed in the morning when I first start my car, something sounds funny under the hood.... clanking, whistle or something like that, when the engine warms up the noise is gone ( or not noticable)
Is that normal??

yeah I notice it too....especially in the past couple of days. It's been 18 degrees F in the morning. Don't know what it is, but it sounds like it's coming from the belts on the left side of the engine.

Yeah sucks, it whistles..... Should I go bother the dealer? Probably get "could not reproduce"...

Its is probalby the tenstioner for the belt (I would say fan belt...but well, you know...) IF you pop the hood and watch it, it "bounces" around, it happens cold and warm, but it seems more prominent cold...I have talked to the dealer about it, and they said it was normal...they started up 2 brand new TL-S's and they doth did it too. The 00 they had there with 50k did not do it though, they say they think its because of the higer HP/TQ of the S...I think that they are nuts and Acura needs to redesign that tensioner.

Well, I had different problem and the dealer replaced my A/C tenssioner. The problem was that something was cluncking while the car is in gear (D or R). As soon as I put it back into P, the noise would go away. The thing I expirence now is completly different, but you are right, it could be something else in the belt area. Mine seems more noticable when the car is cold and just started, when its warm you can't hear it.

Good to know its normal....
