CL TYPE S OR AN M3!!!!!!!!!

Some of you may know me as the kid getting the cl type-s around november, but im considering to get a slightly cheaper car like a 1996 m3 with 60-65k miles on it. Ive been considering this choice for the last month or so. My mom wants my dad to keep the cl so he can pay it off and keep it for himself and get me a cheaper car for around 16- 17 thousand dollars. Now what would you do there both great cars imo, but im so dam confused.

THE m3- verdict- sporty as hell, rwd, manual, bmw
Acura cl type s- verdict- newer, pretty quick, navigation, better interior and overall condition.

Remember what car is better for the next 7-10 years!!

HElP me out guys give me your opionion im driving in a month

I see young kids in M3s all the time. I say the "limited edition" CL.

Save up!! check out the 04 TL. 270 hp, 17x8" rims stock with opt potenzas, 6spd, 5.1 channel audio, and Brembo brakes stock on the manual. Now there's a car for the next 7-10 years!

get the M3... but only with less than 30K miles on it. Expect problems as it does not age well.

i had the EXACT same dilemma, keep the CL, cause u already own it, plus older cars give more problems.

Listen to lead_sled, it'll be cheaper to maintain the CL. I owned a 325is, and my pops owned a e30 m3, both had their share of time in the shop. Parts aren't cheap, and aftermarket products are not cheap either. I had some bills that really made you go and . However, the cars will last if they have been treated properly...I stayed in touch with the guy we sold my car to, and he put a new engine in at 225k miles....hows that for reliability ?

Besides, I thought a used M3 might sell for more than 17 grand...time to go check the blue book

says who? I know guys who have over 100k miles on their m3s with no major problems.

I say get the m3! Its soild and such a great drivers car!!

Go drive one, then im sure you will want to trade in your CLS.

But then again, there is nothing wrong with your CLS, so why ruin a good thing.

i've seen suspension problems and the interior of the M3 deteriorates a lot, starting from the sealing that sticks out from tha back. At 100K or less expect major changes like new clutch and timing belt.

like the CLS doesnt have clutch problems early, and the CLS has early wear on their leather also..

if u keeping the car for the next 7-10 years go with the CL.

i dont really think the M3 will last 10 more years..well it might, but u'll prolly have to shell out a lot to fix stuff

When i bought my cl i was debating between a 98 or 99 m3 with less than 30k or a newer cls, the bad thing about the m3 is maintence unless you know a local shop that will work on german cars because you can parts from different bmw magazines, but with the cls it is a honda and honda's last forever, and good luck finding a m3 with 60k on it that has not been beat on HARD they are a true sports and people drive them like that

my 2 cents

Get the M3 .. you'll never regret it. Nothing is dangerous until you make it dangerous w/ poor choices behind the wheel. Get the bmw, be prepared to deal w/ high costs of service for the Bimmer since it's outta warranty .. the CL-S still has its warranty and probably has the 7yr/100K tranny warranty

well E36 M3 is still my dream car and i still dreaming to have it
i would have bought it if my wife can drive a stick car..
that is why we bought cls at the very first beginning
well..after having cls for 3 years,,what i have found out is...
i perfer a RWD car..which has more mod potential and much much fun..although cls is still a nice car..but...u cannot get too much fun with a FWD cars
and m3 can be a daily drive car too...i found some on the papers..with low mile ..no accident 95 m3 for only less than $11000 which is a very good price by the way..
