Cl w/Navi

Cl w/Navi
Question for the people with navi. I am thinking about buying the factory Navi and adding it to my non navi car. My question is that will I have any problems, and if I add an aftermarket CD player, will the NAVI still work. And can I play movies throught the monitor.
Thanks

There is an adapter to make it play movies, not sure what it is, but there is something in the FAQ about this setup.
One of the AV guys can tell you more about the aftermarket stereo and navi.

You should do a search on this. Some people have done this, and with success in most cases as I recall.
But if I recall the photos correctly you may want to think about this three times or so before you try this. You need a new front fascia for the dashboard, the climate control is affected, you need to add the navi unit to the trunk, yadayadayada, the list goes on and on.
The navi is a $2,000 factory option, and I'll bet you can't do it for less than $3,000 or so, not including your time. Plus, I predict when your are done (not to doubt your skills, mind you) there will be an inevetible trip to the Acura dealer to debug what you attempted to accomplish at about $100 per technician hour or so. I am sure they will be thrilled about this to no end.
Did you ever start a task with the best intentions but 10% of the way into it say to yourself "God, I wish I would never have done this." That is my point.
If you HAVE to have a navi, I would trade for a CL that has it installed. Another option is to add on an aftermarket unit. They are getting quite affordable by now.
Let this run for a while before making a decision. I dislike obligating others on the board, but if I were you, I would seek Shawn S's opinion on this. In my opinion, he is a navi expert, and as a mod he might help you with your search.
If you pointed a gun at me and said "give me a one word, yes or no answer": No.

Yes, you can have a aftermarket headunit and things will be fine..
For parts I would start looking at junk yards or wrecked CL from here.
How electronically inclined are you? I would say it would be a 8-10 hour job if you prepped and did the proper research..

Actually, if you didn't mind going aftermarket, then that would be probably better. I had a choice between a navi and a non-navi cl and went with the non-navi. I installed an Alpine nav system and I'm much happier! The screen is WAY sharper, larger, the Nav Disk is more complete, and the system is much more expandable.
