CL Type S/Hyundai Tiburon

This was more of an encounter than a race. In my area we have to navigate around the hordes of 18-wheelers every morning that cut through our side of town to get to the main highway. I'm coming up on an 18-wheeler and I'm about to negotiate a pass when I noticed in my reaview mirror a Tiburon jumping forward in the lane to my right. I was already in the sport shift mode in 3rd so I easily passed the Tiburon and the 18-wheeler. A few more miles up the road the guy in the Tiburon tried the same stunt but didn't have the torque to pull past. He was caught behind several cars and I made it on to the ramp to enter the highway. I thought nothing of the Tiburon and moved on.

I'm about 5 miles down the road doing about 75mph when I noticed, once again, the Tiburon coming towards me from three lanes over. The guy actually crossed over two lanes when he got close to me so I would be sure to notice him when he passed me by at about 100mph. He flies ahead of me about 10 car lengths and takes a 40mph curve without breaking. At this point I'm curious what's under this car's hood. The guy is forced to slow down due to oncoming traffic, which gave me the opportunity to catch up to him to see what this guy was all about.

We come up on an empty stretch of 5 lanes and he guns it. I'm amazed as this guy is a good 1 car length ahead of me so I sport shift again to catch up. I can't believe I'm actually having to make an effort to catch up to this car. I'm doing 140 in 4th gear and I only got him by a half a car length. I didn't bother to upshift to 5th but I was surprised the Tiburon had that much punch. I looked up both the 4cyl and V6 versions and both have significantly less HP and Tq.

Yeah they are way behind us as far as stock hp/tq #s go, but they respond very well to aftermarket mods, especially forced induction. I have ran across a Tibi here and there and it usually ended up the same result, me beating them but not by much. Nice kill anyway though! What mods do you have if any?

Yeah I understand that but the whole point is that this damn Tiburon was pulling hard above 80mph. I'll be damned to think a car that has never broken the 200 barrier in neither HP or Tq can pull against a CL-S like that unless it was modified. I'm sure if I had another shot and hit him from a dig in a real race I would have burned his ass up.
