CL Type-S Car Cover - Any Recommendations?
Hello,
I recently traded in my 2001 CL Type-S (nighthawk black) for a 2003 CL Type-S 6-speed (anthracite). I'm looking for a good car cover to protect the paint, especially since I have no place to park it indoors. I've been told that the factory cover isn't that great. Also, I have the Onstar antenna just above the rear window. Any suggestions?
thanks,
-gary

i have a factory cover, and it's good but pricey. the material/thickness is the same as the cover for our sl500, which is factory also.
but i think you can find aftermarkets that are as good or better for a better deal, but I didn't have time as I travel (and keep the car stored a lot) so I just bought one from a dealer.

i have one which i use during the spring and summer. the material is called noah, i think. not sure who made it but it's made to custom fit the car. i cut off the tag of the maker so it wouldn't scratch the car. but noah is pretty thick (not thick enough to prevent dings from hail) and breaths pretty well. i think it cost about $200 from florida.

I can order cover through Pep Boys for $168.99. It's fitted for mirrors, spoiler and OnStar antenna for a 2003 CLS. P/N C15900GK

i read in some article that cats and squirrels like the smell of the evolution series and like to tear it up. and that's what prompted me to buy the noah material instead. not sure if that's true or not but since there are a lot of cats in my complex, decided to play safe....i chose noah.

Its all up to you on what fabric you might want. I think mine is the weathershield fabric This is the latest technology in car cover fabric. The Noah cover I had with my 94 ACCORD. Each cover has its pros & cons. The Noah is heavier & is easier to put on & take off with stronger winds.
The Noah cover is hard to wash & dry in a home washer & dryer.
The Noah cover has better protection to protect againts dings like hail or someone bangs with a car door because of the heavier material. The Noah cover is harder to dry when wet & is harder to pack or store to compact size compared to weathershield cover. The Noah cover offers a bit more heat rejection because of it heavier material. The Noah cover offer less protection agaists scratching your cars finish when taking it off & putting it on as compared to weathershield cover.
The Weathershield Cover is lighter & is much less bulky packs easy for storage & protects your cars paint & finish better when taking it off & putting it on. The weathershield cover will dry in minutes just shake when wet. It can be cleaned in a home washer & dryer if needed.
The material is better than the Noah in the new Car Cover technology.
It is very easy to put on & take off because of its light weight.
