CL Semi-factory lip kit?

I was wondering since the TL/CL lip kit conversion is the most popular and best looking kit on a 2G CL (sorry RonDog) how come no one ever made a mold of it and produced them themselves? It's not that hard if you are capable to do the conversion yourself. All you would have to do is pre molding stage make a fiberglass mold of the lip. I know it prob wouldnt be Ron Jon quality but it would give you somewhere to start from and then perfect the body work on it. It just seems to simple of an idea that no one produced copis of it.

Not worth doing from a business standpoint. Stick to cars that are popular and who's owners have money to spend. For cl owners 100 will say they want it, but only 2 ppl will buy it.

Personally I don't care cause if I ever do a kit it will be full custom with aero benefits.

Ya but this should have been done 7-9yrs ago and its not expensive to make a fiberglass mold. Look at the cheasy ass fiberglass kits they sell at andys and ebay. This would of looked a lot nicer for less money. Making a fiberglass mold is cheap its not like what ronjon did by doing a poly kit from scratch. The TL lip kit is 85% of it so you just gotta finish the lip kit then make a mold of it. IDK Y no one who ever did the lip kit conversion never made a mold in case there lip breaks and they have to replace it. Making a mold is way way easier than doing the conversion

because most of us who have done it, have done it on our own. So once we put all our hard work into the kit we're supposed to go and have a fiberglass mold made? There have only been a handfull of people who have done the kit. You're kind of asking a lot.

I understand that you wanna keep it low in #'s but the fact is its not a 1 off and I'm suprised no one has taken the time to make a mold cuz what happens if the frnt lip is destroyed by something in the road rather than have to scrap the kit or start the whole process of modifying a TL lip it would be easier to use the mold you made way back when a create a new fiberglass one in a fraction of the time and $$. Its like buying a set of 5 rims cuz eventually theyll stop producing them and you dont wanna be beat 2yrs later after you crack a rim.

No one made on because basically it is a pain in the ass, its bad enough getting the tl lip kit modified to get on the bumper and once its on there I am sure they were not going to take it off just to make a mold.

I understand you want a kit and preferably want a clean looking one, but honestly its either ronjon, or custom fab your own. Our cars are not civics with companies making bunches of knock offs or consumer based kits.

I've never been in an accident, so i never thought of that. But it would be hard to scrounge up a new lip for sure. But i don't know of anyone who makes molds nor do i want to try and find someone.

If I build a TL conversion lip I would most definitely make one. When I made my fiberglass kick panels on my Galant I made an xtra molds incase someone broke it.

Anyone who does custom fiberglass could mAke a mold and there cheap to make. Whoever did your conversion should have been able to do it. It would of been the easiest part of the Conversion. Any time you make something 1off you should have a mold made cuz accidents happen

Ya that's the normal way to do it and there's nothin wrong with it so don't take it as any disrespect but if you had a mOld it would of been a lot easier and cheaper. Remember I'm not talking about a mold like ronjon's whose setup for poly and to be mass produced. I'm talking about a fiberglass mold that'll get 5 lips or of it maybe

none taken. but insurance covered everything i just payed my deductable. i just ordered what i wanted replaced and the shop did the rest. at this point im sure no ones going to go out of there way to make a mold. the easiest route is to buy a kit out of the bm and do it yourself or a shop do it. i watch my boy do it from start to finish and it was easy. i myslef is just not the handy man type. i payed too much to fuck it up. hell my sideshirts are mounted with brackets.

I know they make the TL lip in fiberglass cuz they dont make it in poly anymore. Im talking about a converted TL lip for a CL that way you dont have to chop it up

Most people mold them to the bumper. But another member found a way to basically slap it on. Its on my car now per his cuts and holes:
