CL-S6 v.s 07 Legacy

cl-s6:
xs headers
ghetto intake mod
volk ce28n 19x8.0
yokohama parada spec-2 225/35/19 summer tires
eibach pro-kit on stock struts/shocks
eibach f&r sway bars
3 12" subs & a full custom trunk enclosure (about 200lbs or more)

legacy mt:
stock w/ 10" sub in sealed enclosure...

Well me and my friend were heading to his place. he drives the legacy, just got it a few months ago haven't mod it except the audio.

1st gear i wheel hopped like a bish. since he was awd he had a very nice launch. he pulled on me by half a car. shifted to 2nd, now he has 1 car on me. shifted to 3rd he has 2 cars on me at the end of 3rd.

that car is fast for stock...

With your headers and being mt I would think you would do better. Redo and get a better launch next time. They pull low 14's stock in the quarter. If you did a rolling start you would have had a better chance as well.
Take off your not going to have a chance with the awd and the whole time you will just filling in the gap but you should def. be able to fill in the gap.
I pulled on one (wagon version though) on the freeway but he was auto.

maybe you should stop "ghetto moddding or mystery modding "your car and it would perform a little better

I don't know, aren't the new Legacy GTs really fast? I think I saw in my Road & Track they run 13.5s in the 1/4 mile. I just found on MSN auto they got it to run a 5.66 second 0-60 and a 14.16 @ 99.00 mph in the 1/4 mile. Seems like the correct results since the CL has 200 + lbs of audio in the trunk.

True and they are lighter than us too.
To bad their reliability sucks and have alot of mechanical problems or I'd think about getting one.

What is the "mystery mod" I hear about?
The infamous mystery mod was first introduced by syncivic on acura-cl.com on 8/21/2001.
He did not say what the mod actually was, much to the dismay of the forum readers, but did leak the following information:
It is made by syncivic in Florida.
You can find a dyno of it on a TL here. Scroll down the page a bit.
It will cost about $299
It gives about 10 hp.
It adds about 15 ft lbs of torque.
It can be added in addition to an Intake and headers
It can be installed in 5 minutes with no special tools.
It is NOT an ECU or software upgrade.
It should not affect your warranty.
It should have CARB approval when it comes out.
It will "Look trick"

Here is a little more info....thanks to Green.

Here is one place I have seen it even though I have seen it other places.
C&D "We like the way the 2.5GT looks and drives, but we don't so much love the reliability record of the example in our long-term vehicle fleet, which suffered some drivability and mechanical issues."
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...gacy-25gt.html

And I'm guessing your talking about your 01-03 cls. Alot older car than an 07 Legacy.
My acura has been a champ since i've had it...and my integra before that was even bigger of a champ. 175K on it when I sold it and never a prob. I know there is always a lemon or not so reliable Acura's out there...just like every manufacturer. I've just heard alot from the legacy side of it.

I'd like to know for sure myself. I'm in the works of getting a 05 2.5gt and haven't read about any major issues for the car. The Legacy is a pretty darn fast car in stock form. Anyways from a dig I don't think you would have had a chance even with a good launch, but it would have been interesting to see the outcome if it was a rolling start.

This "mystery mod" that you speak of, is it still in the works? Or did they throw in the towel? I'd like to see some results on this once it is out... if it ever does.

What was wrong with your Acura that it stayed in the shop? I didn't even begin having trouble with my 97 CL 2.2 until I was knocking on 250,000 miles and even then it was just costly shit like a broken control arm in the driver's side seat or a broken windshield wiper - nothing mechanical. And I'm approaching 80,000 miles on my CL-S and haven't been to the shop for anything and I drive my car HARD.
