CL-S6 is Finally Gone

It went last Wed. and was quicker than I expected. I was expecting to sell it to a great A-CL member but due to some issues which were unforeseen and the availability of a local motivated buyer I had to make the move.

I really had wished it had gone to an A-CL member especially considering that it still has the ported manifold and TB. But the new owner was thrilled about buying it and should be taking very good care of it.

Now on to seeing what can be done with the new car.

Must have been a tad sad to see her go, eh? Anyways, time to move on!! Good luck with the S4

Did you mention to the new owner the history of the car and/or the mods - doesn't matter to me either way... just wondering. Also, what did you end up getting for it, if you don't mind me asking.

Yep, it was definitely sad. The guy was enthusiastic though which is helpful.

And yes, I disclosed everything about the car. He had his mechanic friedn, who works at a Chevy dealer, to look it over. They both came away with the impression of a very clean car. He even spoke to the local Acura dealer about the car and they even consoled any fears. I gave him my business card and told him if any question come up to feel free and drop me a note.

The car went for $22k which is what I had it listed for. I would have happily let it go for a little less but there was no reason as he was willing to pay what I was asking.

Oh yea, I have one nice part ordered for the S4 which should yield me more WTQ than I had with the SC/IC. I am also planning on pulling the manifold and polishing the runners in it soon.

Wow. I remember getting rid of my S4 (1993) to get the CL. The new S4s ( I'm assuming you got a 2.7 tt) have tons of potential. My friend has an '01 (modded RS4 goodies) and just ran a 12.97 with an "easy street launch". I'm sure you will have fun with it.

In many ways, yes. There was something about the J32A2 which I absolutely loved. Combined with forced induction and it was a jewel.

That is my current debate, what to do or rather, not to do.

I may keep it sedate and focus on a real hardcore car. My father-in-law and I keep tossing around the idea of 1000+ HP/TQ and AWD in something very cool looking but easy to drive.

If we head down that path I'll keep the S4 simple with just minor mods.

But if we don't move forward I will contemplate making serious power with it. To get to the turbos the entire front clip has to be pulled just about. If that is out I might as well be creative. Maybe a couple of GT28R's along with other parts to make a serious car. If that is the case I would shoot for 500 WHP and 450 WTQ. That would make an exciting daily driver considering the useful AWD.

Steve, I want to thank you again for all the correspondence back and forth and all the grand detail you gave me regarding the car. I'm glad it went to someone else that was enthusiastic about it
Great seller

I may be pursuing a 6 MT in the South Florida region, so I may be wanting to swing through ATL to have you install some things I have already purchased for it.
Will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again man

never figured that out either... however as not to stray off topic

twin garrett's gets very expensive, very fast... personally I'm going with a T3/T04E setup... nice and affordable... however if you're willing to set forth the funds, and I'm glad you're looking at new turbos, as the stock ones run out of breath up top (as does just about every other stock turbo).

What color did you end up getting? alcantara/leather combo interior?

btw... the bbk upgrades for those cars are orgasmic... twin caliper rears are fun

I used to own a 2000 S4...Scalbert, I have a lot of parts still lying around from it, PM if you are interested. I had over 450 hp with some moderate modding and it was extremely reliable!! Congratulations on your purchase, you'll really enjoy it...it's a lot more car than the CL is!

That is not entirely true, it did see track duty. Just not with the SC/IC.

Had I kept it there would have been slips in the final configuration. But the timing was never right nor was it imperative. It made more power than I had planned on and was a great drive. That was the objective...

Santorin Blue Pearl with Silver Leather. I didn't care for the Alcantara as it didn't seem to wear very well.

That is a beautiful car Steve, and I see the shade didn't stray too far from your CL's blue. Very nice.

There are some awesome mods for that car, there are a ton more upgrades for b5 chassis than any acura :P my neighbor is pushing 300 hp with just a GIAC x-chip...that is a lot of fun.

APR in Alabama(Www.goapr.com) makes tons of mods, have fun, those cars rock and are HOT.

Sounds like you wasted no time in starting on the next project. That should help fill the void left by the CL's departure with ease.

Best of luck in the future with the S4.

I have GIAC ECU, H&R Coilovers, LLtek Intake, Brullen exhaust, TAP boost controller, and other stuff...I have to dig it out. It's at my old shop back in Nebraska, i'd have to call my partner and get him to ship it to you or me.

I had the TAP twin turbo upgrade but sold those off already.

I'll round everything up and let you know of the prices!

Measurements, yes and even have all of the parts. But completed, no. I never was able to cut the aluminum plate though. I'll give someone the parts if they want to take up this project. It is about $100 worth of material.

However, I may be interested in the coilovers. I assume these are the standard and not the PCS?? I had planned on getting the H&R Sport/Race Springs and Bilstein Sport Shocks Combo from AWE but could re-think that if the price was attractive. The adjustability is irrelevant to me which is why I was looking at the fixed system.

Will be back soon. But haven't had much time for the board even while sitting in a hotel.

And dang, I got a speeding ticket in the middle of Oklahoma for doing 9 over. In Georgia they won't look at you unless it is about 14+ over the posted limit. So I thought I'd play it safe and just do 9 over; I was wrong as the trooper said they don't allow anything.
