cl-s worth modifying?

Is the CL-S worth modifying? The CL is my parents car, but I drive it most of the time. I bought a Probe, and I like it better because it has more potential. I'm just deciding if I should buy headers, sway bars, a CAI and etc for the CL. I've already gotten springs/struts for it, and they're waiting for installation.

I think you'll get the same answer of yes, it's worth modding, from most everyone here. that's one of the main reasons we're all here.

in a straight line i believe that the CL-S has more potenital...while the probe is better for handling. Gosh its been a while but i believe the probe and integra GS-R share the same platform.

NO it's not.

Buy a Mustang/Camaro/Firebird if you want a car to mod for speed.

CL has shit for mods to make any great ammount of power. What you can top off at a bit over 300hp (on a good day) at the crank with headers/intake/pulleys.

Please hold me back, my excitement level is through the roof.

Sorry 14,15 second 1/4's aren't fast. Quick, but not fast.

Cars that run consistent mid to low 13's step into the fast realm.

(I'll wait for someone to mention the $4k super charger which gets you to speeds around a stock LS1 Camaro, if even that)

The Probe and the Mazda MX6 shared the same platform in the early '90s.

I dislike Mustangs immensely, but I saw an ad in the paper today for a brand new '03 SVT Cobra Convertible for $33,795 after rebate ($3,000 rebate, I believe). It allegedly has the following, according to the ad...

Mach audio 6-disc in-dash changer
390 HP supercharged 4.6L
Power driver's seat
Leather
Traction control
Power mirrors
Power windows
Power locks
Anti-theft
Remote keyless entry
A/C
6-speed
275/40 ZR tires
ABS
4-wheel disc
17" aluminum wheels

If one is looking for power and modability, and if the price is correct, that's certainly a better bang for the buck than a CL-S. Plus, there is so much more available for the Cobra, beyond stock.

I will give the 03 cobra svt credit now as it is a factory blower car, and also because the Camaro is done for now. You could get a non-SS for around $22K, add your choice of forced inducction, and have $6k left over for all the suspension and drivetrain mods you could possibly get. At that point that 03 Cobra, even modded, will not stand a chance,...but as factory blower cars go,...

For now, I'll leave the CLS as is. When a whole lot more aftermaket products are out (highly doubt it though), and I have the $$ to modify it, I will. If i had the $$ though, I'd get a Grand National.

the CLS is a nice fockin car... probe is MAD trashy. in all honesty tho, u cud get a CL ridiculously fast, but its gonna cost u big bucks once u get past the bolt-on stage....
all the bolt-ons on a CL-S would cost like what? a lill over 2G.
2Gs in a probe (that is, if it is a turbo model) cud get a boltons and an upgraded turbo, possibly making it faster than the CL-S, depending on the size of the turbo.
im not saying do it, i mean we r comparing a Probe to a CL-S here, its a joke. give that damn probe back man, ur crazy

I would say....

Much more fun and with the new stuff out there available to us...the CL looks awesome....Not too many other cars have the look as the CL...

slap a kit on there...get the 3.5 upgrade (THAT WOULD BE WAY TO AWESOME)...headers...exhaust....the list goes on... IMHO

I used to own a probe GT back in 93-96. That car was an unreliable, cheaply built piece of crap...3 years later when I washed the car I had to fill in the areas where the black paint had flaked off the car (which was everywhere) with a sharpie...

Anyway it's front wheel drive just like the CLS so it will never be a dragster...not that anyone should ever mention these two cars in the same sentence in the first place...

btw the probe and the mx6 were the same platform...not the gsr lol.

Ahh, LOL

DOH!

ya, no comparison. Although I have seen some quick N/A probes! and also some turbo'd ones.

CLS=PIMP, just not the fastest thing. Definetly pimp.

I love mine

Do NOT mod the CL!

It is NOT yours its YOUR PARENTS!

Only mod cars that are YOURS!

Since the probe is yours mod it or trade it in for something that will be more mod friendly.
