If you think the only difference between an s4 and cls is in straight-line speed, then you are either not too bright or rationalizing your purchase. Go re-read gavriil's post. He didn't even mention the disparity in fit and finish.

doug,
Using price to defend myself??? Huh? Wtf is your problem exactly. I'm attempting to discuss something rationally and academically as possible and all you can resort to is saying pussy this and bitch argument that.

AudiAce,
Did I ever say that the only difference is in straight line speed? This discussion is based on the the assumption that we are talking about each car going in a striaght line. I even responded to gravill post by saying that the S4 and CL-S aren't comparable in a GT-Cup race. READ MY FUCKING POSTS! Disparity in fit and finish? The fucking finish of the paint doesn't make damn bit of difference the speed. Speed has been the only thing i've talked about. As through as Gravill posts are on this board, the boundries of comparison that he used were completely different than those that I used. Hence, his post didn't really relate to my post.

I went to each car makers website and priced out the cars and put the exact some options in each car. The car are approximately the same. The price that i used for the Audi has no more options than the CL-S that i priced. So both cars have leather, sun/moonroof, heated seats etc., A comparison between each car from the dealership shows that the CL-S and the S4 have almost the same options. Thus, the difference in price that we will consider for the discussion in this context will be the engine and the drive. Since I wanted to add options that are available for the CLS now or in developement, i only considered the engine because in a cost comparison there isn't a place besides the engine that we can attribute the difference in cost. It wouldn't be fair for me to bring mods to the drive because the CL-S is only available in the FWD version. Although, an AWD CL-S and an S4 become very very close. Thus, the 10k in cost the engine because we are talking about speed and not the paint job
You end up saying the 10k difference is all in the engine. If speed is the only thing you're talking about, then you should subtract from the 10k the cost of AWD, handling, nappa leather, six speed tranny, alcantara, slip differential, and we can go on and on....

And after all that, the S4 will still whip you in straight-line. And frankly every other category.

Whats your best time at the track? Damaged ran a 14.4 at the track when I was there with him. What kills our cars is the fact that they are not stick.

WHATT!!!!!!! Now i know you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. WTF does the leather have to do with anything? I factored that in the cost comparison. You take away AWD,6sp and the slip differential and you think the S4 is the same car?????? Are you nuts!!!!!!! Who's your dealer cause i want the same shit your smokin.

Why do some leather chairs cost 10k and some cost $500? Anyway it's obviously pointless talking to you. Your thought process is too linear to hold an intelligent conversation.

Why dont you guys just chill,
Its very obvious that if you were going to spend that much on a M3, M5, S4, or anything ya'll are getting all bent over about, your just a dumb a$$. When you can get a chevy corvette ZO6 which does 0-60 in 3.9 secs stock with no engine mods for just $48,000
now that would smoke all of those peices of crap.

Zapata, if you think by going to sites and pricing options for 2 different cars evens out the comparison you are mistaken...to put it lightly.

When I got my 2001 RX 300 SS 2 weeks ago, I saw the difference between a real moonroof and our moonroof ro give you one example.

I hope you get my point.
