this kid at my school just got a '97 cobra and of course he and i want to race each other....ok so do you guys think that i will stand a chance? his cobra is stock btw. i have comptech headers, CAI, lighter O.Z. rims, and yoko tires.....feed me with some info pleez.....ur help is appreciated.....

 

and mine is an 2001 and i have comptech exhaust and eibach springs but its not like those matter much

 

let the air out of your tires to 25 p.s.i. cold and if you get out of the hole first you have a chance

dude....do it from a roll first, then see the result, if you beat him, which you should, then take him from a stand still....I dont think you'll have a problem if he's stock, i mean hell its not like they were that powerful.....

I guess I'll be the naysayer here, but unless you have the 6 speed, I don't think you have a chance unless the guy can't drive. A well driven 97 Cobra is capable of mid 13s. So unless your mods have knocked a full second off, I think the Cobra will get the W. Have you taken your car to the track? Knowing what kind of times your running would help me out because I don't know what each of your CLs run. Either way, race him and find out.

 

Bone stock I ran 13.7 in my 98 chief.

I can cut you a break as far as saying you beat a given car and driver on a given day, but these kind of statements are preposterous.

He SHOULD have a problem beating him, the 97 Cobra is a faster car...PERIOD. I ran faster bone stock in mine (13.7) than ANYONE has run in a CL on this board NA with bolt-ons.

CAN he beat him? Sure, if the guy is a fucking lame ass driver like you seem to match up with.

Wow, you do that with a 96 and no power adder? Sweet. I had a 95 GT Vert Auto and could beat up on the stock 96 5 speeds. You must have a lot in the motor. So I guess I shouldn't say how slow the 96-98 GTs were without qualifying it with STOCK 96-98 GTs.
