CL-S makes short vibration-buzz noise while backing out of garage and again when...

when I first roll down the street.

It's like a short "brrrrrp" noise, no longer than a second in length.

WTF is that?!

It does it twice when starting up the first time in the morning - once when I'm backing out of my garage (I usually put it in neutral as I roll down my driveway) and again once I'm in the street and starting to drive away in D5.

Then it doesn't happen again the rest of the day.

Maybe it's what soopa is talking about here?

Dunno.

Is this normal or should I have the dealer check it out? And how exactly would I get the sound to reproduce?!

Oh sweet! That MUST be it, because the vibration reminds me of the ABS brake feeling. I guess the ones in the CL-S charge themselves up or something?
Weird...

Thanks.

Uhm mine's brand new and it's warm out, so your problem must just be worn out brakes or something.

Same here, every morning, backing out of garage, same noise ever since I got it but I didn't think it was much of a problem. I'll miss it if it goes away

It's the ABS system pressurizing. It does it twice, the second time is sorta hard to hear. Anyway, it's totally normal, every CL (or Honda) does it.

Are you sure this is not the passenger mirror tilting down and then back up again when you put it in drive?

Teh ABS does a self check at that time. Most likely, the noise is the cycling of the pump and solenoids as it performs this test.

BTW- whats with the name change Pooba?
