CL-S with Lincoln LS???? Who will win?
I have friend of mine bought 2000 Lincoln LS V8. He wants to run with me. We will be going to the mountains this weekend and I like to see if my car is faster, who's handle better etc.
Anyone tried this car? Anyone raced with it?
Please let me know.
Thanks

on paper the cl-s is quicker to 60 and 1/4 time, but i don't know about the v8 at higher speed. it might pull ahead due to lowend torque. the lincoln is one heavy car, and its american, so the power efficency to the wheels is questionable. it is rear drive so its probaly easier to drift and pull out of corners, who knows, post the results when you get back...

CL-S. A friend of mine has a LS V8 and it's not near as fast. The V8 and RWD makes it feel fast, but it's not. Nology did a NOS equipped LS V8 and it was still slower to 60 and the 1/4 than a stock CL-S.

CL-S in a straight line.
The LS should handle really well though.
It's a shame that the Lincoln doesn't have the
variable valve timing heads off the Jag & the 280-290hp
that comes with it!

Mahn those pics ya'll post are hilarious, love those...
And the CL-s is WAAAAAAAAAAAY faster than the Lincoln I wish i had a LS 430 LS V-8. I have raced both and while the CLS can keep up the Lincoln is really a gentlemens car, slow and smooth.
A Lincoln sport
Really Caddy and Lincoln should stick to making cars for old people and keep that market share.

Car Stats
If you guys want 1/4 mile or 0-60 times go to
http://www.car-stats.com/
You can usually answer your own "whose car is faster" question by going there (though it doesn't list lateral acceleration on most cars or performance in actual racing conditions).

I rented a LS V8 when I went on a business trip to San Francisco over the summer. I have to say, it may be a little slower in a straight line than the CL-S, but taking that car through the curves at high speeds was amazing. I guess that what rear-wheel drive and a 50-50 weight distribution give you. Definitely not a terrible American car.
I really have to say it felt like it would easily outhandle our car in the twisties. If it actually does, that's another story. It just doesn't have that annoying front wheel drive "all of my weight is over my front wheels" feeling our car has

All i have to say is I smoked my friend's LS V8 and i have a CL-P. So its easy to say a CL-S will only embarass that piece of crap car even more. I personally dont the like the LS because it looks too much like a BMW, plus i live in dearborn, MI. Car capital of the world, i see so many LS's per day, anyone would get sick of them too. i swear i see at least a couple hundred per day.
