CL-P Rapes the Celica GTS

I was having a bad day because of the fact at this restaurant I wanted to go with some friends I'm not old enough. I had to be 21 to get in which was pretty gay so i decided to go home and let them eat. I got on I-76 then headed towards Roosevelt Blvd. and then this stupid riced out Celica GTS with a TRD badge kept looking at me. I was like blah I'm not in the mood to challenge him so I just mind my own business and kept driving. I floored the car a little going faster than usual and then after looking in my rearview mirror the celica was right there and we came to a traffic light. Stupid ricer kept revving his engine at me and then I just made a decision and said ahhh what the hell. Light turns green and I just freaking peeled the fawk out like no other. I beat him so bad I think it's not even worth turning on my blinkers. At the end when I came to the next light to slow down because it was turning yellow the stupid guy ran right through the red light almost getting into an accident. What a jackass in my opinion.

Good kill. Put those ricers where they belong. I think this is the first time that I've heard of a "red light running ricer fly by"

Nice kill.

I'm guessing this was an older gen Celica? The new GTS's are definitely no slouches.

Yeah the current gen GTS is no joke. Manual only and real quick with a competent driver behind the wheel.

Damn, and I always thought they were riced out quick looking econo boxes with a body kit.

I never would have thought that. Don't they have 182 hp engines and weigh close to 3K lbs? Were they underrated or something? I mean damn, an S2000 probably weighs less, has 240 hp and can run low 14s, wtf is this thing doing running almost as quick?

I'm mad now

GTS 180 hp @ 7,600 rpm - 2500lbs

S2K 240 @ 7800 rpm - 2835lbs

Not to but remember "out of the box" the GTS still only runs around 15sec+ in the 1/4. Obviously stock for stock with all driver being equal the S2k owns it every time.

Also i didn't know this but the GTS can be had with a 4 speed auto now too.

Good info, I thought they weighed close to 3000 lbs. They do look bigger than the S2000, but I guess looks can be deceiving. You're right, the S2000 would own it stock. I'm still suprised how quick they are though. Never would have thought that. Good to know in case I run one and think there is something wrong with my car if it keeps up.

Those times in a Celica are with all the bolt-ons, all the electrical toys, etc PLUS all the seats (besides driver) and spare/jack removed. We talked about this before. Running into a stock one on the street isn't that big of a deal. One the highway, even the modded ones aren't that great b/c of the low tq, ala S2K.

you think a intake 3.0 can hang with a GTS with intake and exhaust?

From a stop, a manual GT-S will prob take you. On the highway, prob close. Those small manual cars lose some time when not launched. Race one from a 5mph roll.

That car was definitely manual from the sound of the car it was amazing with all that factory ricing kit they got. Heh today i headed to Franklin Mills to watch a movie for 4 bux and comes with free popcorn and on the way this Hyundai think he's got game or something. I think my AEM license plate frame attracting too many racers =\

If I recall correctly yesterday if it was an automatic he was power braking for some reason. I wouldn't do it myself on my CL but that's just insane. Didn't help him at all.
