CL-P Bashing Sucks

Why is it that at least once a day I see a thread telling people "Don't buy the CL-P" or "a CL-P is not a real CL"

wth?

Yes I know that CL-S is a bit faster than the CL-P but is that reason enough to contantly put down the CL-P?

Is my CL-P really that slow?
VIDEO

From the way most of you talk about the CL-P, people that didn't know any better would think that a CL-P was about as slow as a civic. Do civics accelerate like that? I know its no ferrari but its no slouch either.

I wonder if most of you CL-S owners who contantly put down the CL-P have even ever driven or been a passenger in one? Or are you all just riding the "CL-P's are slow" bandwagon?

Perhaps you CL-S owners need to contantly remind others how fast the CL-S is over the CL-P to make up for the slack in your pants :blaze:

Seriously though, I am not hating on you guys, but it just upsets me that there is so much negativity on these boards towards the CL-P for no apparent reason. You guys warned me not to get the CL-P when I told you guys I was thinking of getting a CL back in January. Guess what? I got the CL-P anyway and am not regretting it one bit.

Thanks for listening

this is a auto performance based website, people are going to recommend the sportier version.

It's really down to price too, if you can get a CLP a lot cheaper, then why not? you get most all the same stuff, I just like the higher horsepower, and the manual tranny which was not offered on the CLP.

I drive a cls-6, my mother has an 02 clp. Having many hours behind the wheel of both; I can say they are both great cars. My cls-6 is much faster than the clp, but the clp isnt slow at all. The clp rides much smoother, it has different handling characteristics, and a different powerband. Still a really awesome car. It all comes down to driver preference, and matching the car to the driver.

Not picking on him, just using his comment as a reference.

I guess bashing is a harsh word, perhaps negativity?

Ha...negativity. I guess you haven't been around long enough, but sometimes even moderators contribute to it. It sure questions their loyalty/intentions when they participate IMO. But anyways...What's worse is that after the bashing/negativity it usually turns into a "me, me, me" type of thread. Stick around long enough and you'll be able to point them out...although there's still a couple out there that chooses to remain true to the cause.

People that bash the CL-P, are just mad because of their small penis size.

Nothing wrong with a CLP. Sounds like you need one of those "Mean People Suck" bumper stickers. :gheyfight: People on this forum say what their thinking. That's what keeps it interesting.

I just don't understand why anyone would buy a CL-P. The typeS is far superior and only a couple grand more...if you're modding your car for performance, it only makes logical sense to get the Type-S as a base for your project.

BTW, I own a CL-P

Exactly. People always talk about how some people get v6 mustangs and try to mod them.

If you're gonna mod your car, why not start with 35 hp more right off the bat?

I'm not saying clp's are bad. If you want stock and don't care about making it any faster, or even if you just want it for show, they're just as good as type s's.

it is human nature to bash. if we're the same color, we'll bash fat and skinny. If we're the same size, we'll bash nationality/origin... and so on... take it or not, it is a bashing world.

I have respect for the CL-P after driving a loaner TL-P awhile back. Until 5k rpm it was just as fast as the auto CL-S I drove, and it had much more supple seats and a nicer ride. Its not slow either, like what high 15's? Thats as fast as auto 325's & pre-VQ auto Maxima's.
