cl-p with '03 mufflers..

hi guys,

i bought an '01 cl-p in feb '04 and when i went to the dealership yesterday for an oil change i was walking around the lot and saw an '01 cls with the '01 mufflers and noticed they were different. (thinner) i did some searching and found out mine had '03 mufflers.

what are the pro's and con's of having 03 mufflers on an 01?

and are they bolt on or do they require modification of the stock exhaust system?

i bought the car pre-owned certified from radley acura in va and the car is from california.

thanks guys.

they should just bolt right on. You might want to find out from
someone who has checked. They should be the same mounting
points. It will not affect your performance one bit!!!

OK, I just checked Comptechs site, and they list their exhaust
ifts 01 - 03s, so it should just bolt on!!!

Good Luck!!

i ordered the '03 mufflers to replace my '02. the '01s and '02s are simply thinner, but performance wise, its the same exact thing. The only difference are the tips, where the '03s are much thicker and the stainless steele is by far more shinier

Well if you have a CLP, and you have 03 CLS mufflers on it, you may feel a performance difference because the CLS flows more. but if they are 03 CLP mufflers .. then no, the only difference is the tips really.

I have an 01 CLP and I put 03 CLS exhausts on. I definitly felt a bit of a increase response over my old CLP exhausts.

After doing research I found that the CLP exhausts are intentionally restricted. The CLS exhausts have about a 30% increase in airflow over the CLP ones.

You will absolutely not feel any performance difference. The sound may be slightly different, but mufflers do little to nothing for performance.
