CL modified headlights

Has anyone on here put a strip of LED's inside the headlamps like the new Audi & Porsche headlamps have and if so how difficult was it?

your better off putting in projector kit and you can look in ronjon's new thread to see the fog light section with the led strip you speak of.

cuz they look dope! Why do people put the Halo angel eyes in there headlamps cuz thats a BMW thing? They do it cuz it looks good. Audi's not the only one doing it and in the next 3-5yrs most luxury cars will have some sort of LED daytime running lights from the factory.

Some guys from the tl side have put led strips just under the headlight housings. IMO it looks like trash. Keep em for the Audi's and the halos for the bmw's.

Projectors on the other hand, now thats a different story!

Ive yet to see any car other then an Audi pull off the LEDs properly. The same goes for the halos.

Mercedes-Benz invented traction control so no other cars should have put it in theirs, too?

It doesnt necessarily be the LED strips but LED's running along the bottom of the headlamp housing. I just think it could possibly look real sharp having LED daytime running lights inside the headlamp. It might look like total garbage but if it is done right it could look good. It could freshen up the plain jane exterior and bring it into the next decade.

Are those CL headlights? Do you have any pics of them on the car?

Funny... here's a photo of a TL with the LEDs added:

It's not for me but I don't think it looks bad at all.

I like the way MB did LEDs on the new S:

I def feel you and commend you on trying to bring the CL to the "next decade", but you have to do it right and without looking too ricey. if you are going to put LED's or Halo's, or what ever, just make sure you don’t go cheap, and make sure you not only seal everything back up right, but in case something happens you can take it apart again for service with out damaging the headlight casing. I’ve been looking to do something different as well with mines, but a projection mod is all I’m really looking at doing. Good luck with yours and don’t forget to take pics.

When done properly, I agree. But most LED installs aren't, so I consider them the same.

Benz and Audi use large high quality LEDs. The LEDs people put in their headlights are tiny, so all you see are little dots compared to the Benz/Audi glow.

I'm not sure if i'm even going to do it. I was just asking if anyone else had and what it looked like. It looks nice on the 3gTL's when done right. I would never do a cheap ricey pep boys thing to any of my cars. I'm a Porsche Tech and all the cars I've built are CLEAN. Thats how I like my cars but it might look good but I dont want to be the 1st to do it on a CL cuz I dont want to spend all the time on it and it come out cheezy thats why I wanted to see somebody else's

Car Modifier's Halo setup looks hot, but any of the other attempts at LED's in the headlights have looked like trash to me because people use the strips and not bulbs.

Thanks! I actually did not install them myself; I sent them to Advanced Automotive Concepts for that.
