CL has a doctors appointment

Well after months of waiting for my recall notice (don't drive it much so wasn't in a hurry) I called my service dealer and had them run the VIN. As expected mine is included in the timing belt tensoiner recall. So I have an appointment Tuesday to change it out. He said 6-7 hours... does that sound about right? It better be because I am going to drop it off in the morning and will need it to be done so I can drive home after work. This will be the first major surgery on the car... poor thing

Is there any where we can check for our vin number or does it have to be at the dealers?

I dropped mine off, but they asked me if I wanted to wait. They said the timing belt tensioner upgrade only takes about 1 - 1 1/2 hours labor time. IIRC, I think they only billed for an hour of labor time.

It takes at most 2hrs... make sure they put the timing-belt covers back on properly.

Damn guys, this is last years news! There was a thread posted which completely spelled out which VINs were effected by the Tensioner recall, and which would also get the Water Pump/Timing Belt replacement!

The timing belt tensioner recall never came up on my owner's link.

I received first word of this recall here on A-CL.com. Do a search, the affected VIN range was posted here.

About a month or two after seeing the post here I received a postcard in the mail stating that my VIN was part of timing belt tensioner recall.
