I would assume that you will just max his out, then your insurance should cover the rest.

Also what is your states minimum?

Well it just pisses me off that Erie told me not to go through my insurance company because they admitted complete fault. Only thing is, they didn't check their insureds coverage limits. Minimum prop damage in Pa is only 5k! He had 25k in coverage.

So I'm two weeks into this and they're about to send me a check for a remainder of the difference and the guy calls and says, "I have bad news, we just noticed the insured doesn't have adequate coverage and there is nothing we can do, you're going to have to go through your insurance company" Me, "You've got to be kidding me, you don't check the coverage limits as the first thing you do in an accident, remind me that if I ever need to change insurance companies to not get yours"

So now I got my claim elevated through my insurance company so I don't have to wait another 2 weeks and they're going to try to cut me a check for 44k here sometime next week. Poor kid, they're probably going to have to sue him for that other 19k... Just shows, saving $30 per 6 months isn't worth it. Make sure to have at least 50k in prop coverage.

Good lord Bill, you are living up to the Pits screen name! Change your screen name to "LuckyBill200". 5K property damage? Thats ridiculous! Why even bother right?

Well, you're right it is the 'pits' on the behalf that I have to go through all this hassle...

BUT, I only owed the car for 4 months, I obviously only made 4 car payments and I thought I got a ridiculous deal on the purchase. The reason I'm not totally annoyed is because I only (Only in the sense that it's a good deal, not only like its not a lot of money, Im not trying to sound pretentious) paid 35k for the car 4 months ago with 6.5k on the odometer. I put 10k on the car in 4 months and have it paid down to 32k. So in 4 months Im going to make $12k on the car, and who said cars weren't good investments, lol.

So I guess that's a very very bright spot.

I'm an insurance agent and that is what I tell people on a daily basis and some listen and unfortunately some don't until they go thru a situation like this and learn the hard way. Especially since luxury cars are more common now more than any other time that I can remember.

Hey, $12k sounds like a nice little chunk of money for your troubles! Still sucks to lose the car, but at least you get compensated!

I kinda like the wheels But it's a matter of opinion, really. Is your right front rim in good enough shape to go on? If so, I'd do it. Maybe slap on a set of winters on these wheels.

Good luck taking care of a black car, though

First, I'd like to thank the mods for allowing this thread to stay active as long as it has being that it had very minimal CL info in it, so thanks!

Second, the car has 21k on the odometer, interior is saddle brown, the pictures don't do it justice, it kind of looks orange but it's definitely not.

Civic, Street, trust me, I miss the blue too but seriously I've searched high and low and can not find a car similar to my old one.

Aman, As for the rims, the front right one is shot but the other 3 are fine. I'll just purchase a new rim/tire and slap it on the front. It shouldn't be a problem since the other 3 tires only have about 3k miles on them and the wear isn't noticeable so the new tire so match pretty perfectly. And as for taking care of a black car, my old CL-S was black and I feel I did a pretty good job taking care of it. I Zaino my cars probably 3 times a year and am always trying to learn more about professional detailing so I hope I have no problem keeping the Black Sapphire paint swirlfree.

Thanks again guys for the opinions. Car is coming from Tulsa so lets see how long it takes to get here.

Just found out that the dealership sold it from under my nose. I was on the way to the bank to wire them the deposit too. People wonder why salesman have a bad reputation, I guess there is no honor when it comes to money.

The search continues....

How important is all wheel drive?

Ive seen multiple montego blue 335s with the 6AT and sport package, but theyre RWD.

Heres one I just stumbled across, no sport package though:

Awd is pretty big, once all the upgrades are done, having 450ft/lbs of torque will be much easier to handle with awd.

That's a very sore subject...

I prepaid and ordered them from AST right around Thanksgiving and was told there was a 4-6 week turnover time. Fastforward two months and a few of us xi guys have got frustrated, myself included have been bit#hing up a storm about the delay to AST Holland. They pretty much said that we are so low on their priority list that they might get around to making them sometime this week. They said they got a big order from Grand Prix thing or something like that and that put our coils on the sideburner.

So I guess I should hopefully be receiving them around mid-March... Sigh
