Hey streets can you install the new aiwa dvd player (250) instead of the unit you have. The reason why I'm asking is because the awia one you can use it at home as well and it's cheaper. also I was thinking of mounting my dvd player in my glove compartment. I think PhiTL has the same setup and equipment but looken for a 10 volt dc adapter since the unit takes 10 volt.

Let me know and that install looks tight

I think this would be a good setup in the glove box. If you have apassenger, they can run everything for you, if you are alone, you just open the glovebox and use a remote.... putting in th ecenter consolde would be sort of tuff to get at... Which system is better? the Aiwa or the Pioneer?

SE. Is this install with the new modulator etc. you told us about, or the old Deluxe style?

Akim,

Try driving in the Bay area during rush hour for 1 week. Then you will see that it is indeeed possible. . . Just don't play movies for the first time.. play movies like Happy Gilmore, etc... will help alleviate the tesnion....

Come on guys, the dealership is not going to confirm that the Navi plays DVD.

Don't go back at look at my history on DVD/ Navi posts because I was against it at first. But like moomaster, I'm starting to rethink it too.

It wouldn't fit in the glove compartment. It was about 1/2" too tall. I have the IR eye on the rearview mirror, which works really good. The only thing I have to open the center console for is to change DVD's. This is the old deluxe setup And I will see Jens tomorrow (I will be getting my oil changed) so I hope it doesn't void any warranties.

Not at all You are simply using a relay to toggle between the navi and the video. It won't burn it out.

I'm in the Woodbridge area. There is a decoder box up underneath the dash with an RF modulator to play the audio through the stock headunit or an aftermarket headunit with no auxiliary input. The DVD, VCR, playstation, Video camera, anything you want really plugs into the decoder via RCA cable, and VIOLA! You have video!
